Just out of curiosity, do you really use all 10 ring slots for enchanted rings?
Yes, I am too poor to buy a bunch of brooches.
I HAD wanted some dingbats for a scarecrow hat, but THAT'S not gonna happen.

I think I have 5 enchanted rings. I use rings for all the enchantments that aren't on a permanent piece of jewellery, simply because they're easier for me to deal with / replace. Then add on two other (permanent, unenchantable) rings for RP reasons, and I've got a pretty full set.
I could go with this, I don't see how having 10 rings and then a few various other things for enchants is any more tacky than having your character covered in brooches of kittens, seashells, and butterflies

I guess it depends on what you see the brooches as, I try to imagine them as something like the badges on an RAF uniform, down one shoulder. The rings just make me feel like I ought to have sunglasses and a gold tooth. For want of options though...

I kill Shuyin. He vitaes. I slapknuckle his (unruned) weapons. Sweep.

Maybe the swept items need to suddenly show up in some random spot around the basin?
For instance, someone slapknuckles me, and I drop my chain. Not runed, but I DID have it personalized.
Now, I don't like the idea of someone sweeping my 50 credit investment into RP under the bed, so to speak. Why not have it pop back up somewhere in the Prime Plane?
Tully tells you, "Hey, boyo! You lost your chain, I found it. "

I have to agree with this here, seriously, wtf. What's with all the snuggly sunshine jewelry? It's all sunshine, coral, butterflies and seashells on like EVERY ITEM. Ialie might actually have some sort of mafia-like hold over the Jewelry industry without us realizing it. I know Magnagora has some neat items, but I want some too.

Hey now, I made a pretty non-snuggly Tahtetso armband. But yeah, there really is an inordinate amount of fruity selections in jewelry, I noticed.

I always felt it made more sense to use rings for the defenses (Mercy, Waterwalk, etc.) since you only need to do them once per login. Bracelets and necklaces and brooches should be reserved for things you might need to do repeatedly (like Scry, Scrub, Gust, Ignite) since you might not have time to recharge them in the middle of whatever's making you need to use them.
The trouble with brooches is you still can't get them repaired (not sure if that's a bug or not). If you're going to put artifact runes on them, though, that doesn't really matter.
All those rings do look tacky, but that's why there's such a thing as Gloves of Concealment. (A bit ridiculous to have to spend that much just to not look tacky, though.)
I'm wearing ten rings, but if I needed a slot, I could move something to something else. But I think a lot of those auction things should have been runes. Runes are a brilliant idea because they let you build on the beauty of the crafting system while still having artifacts, thus letting your artifacts be uniquely your own. The Esteem Mask, Cowhide Boots, Pearl Ring, Bloodstone Ring, Astral Boots, Silver Spoon, and maybe even the various Censers could have and maybe should have been runes, in my opinion. (The only reason not to use a rune is either an item that requires some action like sweeping with a broom, so you can't attach it to something that it makes no sense to sweep with; or something where it's an intentional limiting factor that you can't wear two different pairs of boots so you can't have the effects of both of two artifacts at the same time.)

You know, when I started playing online text games, we didn't have artifacts! And then came this game, Achaea, and they had artifacts - but nothing was none of this fancy rune schmancy nancy stuff!
