I think you're giving them too much credit, Phred. Without the constant backing of the Disney Channel media presence, Hannah Montana/Miley Cirus and the Jonas Brothers would be nowhere near the chart heights they are now - which is fueled by preteens.

Musicals are a beautiful, beautiful thing.

They are.

This thread needs less Disney drivel and more wormsign.

Celina, listen very closely.

If someone is forcing you to say that, just blink twice.

Well, a LOT of people like the Jonas Brothers. That first song is pretty cool.

Like I predicted, the album is #1. Here are the top 10 albums from Billboard this week

CODE
01) Jonas Brothers -- A Little Bit Longer
02) Soundtrack -- Mamma Mia!
03) Kid Rock -- Rock N Roll Jesus
04) Miley Cyrus -- Breakout
05) Sugarland -- Love On The Inside
06) Lil Wayne -- Tha Carter III
07) Coldplay -- Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends
08) Soundtrack -- Camp Rock
09) Rihanna -- Good Girl Gone Bad
10) Jonas Brothers -- Jonas Brothers

So, if you count the Camp Rock soundtrack which features the Jonas Brothers, there are 3 albums in the top 10!

First of all, I wasn't judging them good or bad, just reporting the facts. The Billboard chart doesn't have a disclaimer that says "oh, no Bubblegum acts".

Ah, but as much as you guys want to be rebellious--this has always been part of the whole creation and merchandising of popular bands, and young teens have always been influential in popular tastes--the Beatles when they started were just like the Jonas Brothers. Let's not fill our minds with false pretensions. And you can't force a creation to be popular--Disney has bombs too, just like some American Idol fans. How is Disney Channel any different from MTV or Radio or Sitcoms/Variety Shows--there's always a chance for them to be popular. At least in the UK they allow and accept pop acts like Kylie and the Spice Girls, rather than saying "that's not real music", etc.

To get this back (somewhat) on topic--I think Disney or Pixar should adapt Dune as an animated series!

Hmm...

Shofangi are teh Fremen!!

EDIT: censor.gif NO! Disney better keep their grubby paws AWAY from my Herbert! ranting.gif ranting.gif Besides, that stuff is NOT meant for kids. Lets see how they make the Sietch Orgy a kid thing.

The Spice Girls weren't real music?! Bite your tongue, sir!

Er. Ahem. I'm surprised the Momma Mia! Soundtrack was #2. Not to knock the music (I've loved ABBA since I was like eight), but a lot of my friends weren't very pleased with the movie. Though I was thrilled and loved it (Perhaps solely because Pierce and Meryl were in it).

Weirding Way = Nekotai
Paul Atreides = Kaervas?
