Buffs, buffs and more buffs?
Yeah, if anywhere you didn't seem to blithely ignore the effect that DemiWarrior super-damage has on combat, I guess I missed it. That said, you could always...not buff as much? Pwease?

It's not just Demi, I could 3 shot people before Demi/Titan though that was with wounding.. Desitrus could to (pre-demi cause he doesn't know what the Titan life is like ). It's all in how you use your skills?
EDIT: And in regards to "not buffing so much" I told Thoros to use wounds instead of damage during our last raid yet you all wouldn't come until you had 15 people in ripple/shrine/demesne so that went out the window and we used damage.
Moiraine2008-08-17 00:27:17
Fifteen? Wow, I wish I saw that more often. Moiraine's done the lone-tahtetso-defending-Celestia/Water-against-the-horde routine way too many times.

If it is possible to three-shot a person, then yes not much skill was involved in doing it. It does not matter if it was via wounding or via damage; two to three-shotting a person does not require much skill. Now what can be said about that is that it being possible to two or three-shot particular people can be attributed to various reasons, not all of them centered on the person doing the attacking being overpowered. Still, once the variables that can be attributed to the actual defender are siphoned out (i.e. the target being two to three shotted actually is a good healer, defensive player, and has the skills trained that are needed to defend/heal well), then the attacks being used can be labeled as overpowered if they are still two to three shotting people. I personally happen to agree that damage being generated by aggressive stance is out of whack at the moment. I disagree with the consensus by some that it is a problem unique to demigod warriors, because as others have stated it is possible to do the same sort of things as a non-demigod. The difference between a demi and non-demi is 2 strength, which is the difference between the strength Vathael has <23> to mine <21>.
Anyhow, I have two points I am making. The first point is that two to three shotting a person does not take any skill at all to accomplish; it only takes a set of attacks that allow for the possibility of it being pulled off, and the person being attacked having a weakness to the attacks being used. My second point is that the source must be considered when a person is complaining about something being overpowered. If the source is known to be poor to mediocre in defensive abilities, than that source should not be given the same weight as a source that is known for having excellent defensive abilities. There is also the aspect to consider whether the source is trying to downgrade others in an effort to empower itself, or the opposite. In this particular case though, I agree with the consensus that there is a problem even if I do not agree with the particular solutions proposed by some of the posters.

If you could do 20k dmg per combo, and you got in a 5 on 1 fight, you'd be perfectly justified in one shotting each person in turn?
I wasn't there and don't know the details, of course, but it sounds like you're heading down that line of reasoning, and that worries me.
You kill me in a single combo, and I'm fine with that. I have bad robes, no Resilience, barely any combat. It'd be far more fun if I had time to maybe press tripleflash or something, but I'm fine with it. Being able to look forward to not being able to change that regardless of what I do, though, that's pretty depressing.

As the carillion bells thunder in the air, Meliana nearly doubles over when an angry cough suddenly wracks her body.
Whatever skill that is, someone typo it. It's spelled "carillon", not "carillion".
Shiri2008-08-17 04:46:58
Speaking of that skill, I'm still taking 1500 from it, what are the reqs again?
Unknown2008-08-17 04:48:27
You be shushie Shiribot, let the Caco's have their skill.
Shiri2008-08-17 04:49:37
I'm not saying it's too much, I just want to know what the requirement is for me taking that much damage, given how SS passive damage was halved.

Some of you mentioned Warrio damage earlier in this thread.
There was a rather ridiculous bug that I just fixed - Warrior damage was incorrectly stacking damage between people, so if you had ten people in a room, all affected, you could expect thousands of damage.

Otherwise I agree.
Pft, Celenwilde has their own demi gank squads. Desitrus. Shuyin. Rika. Nydekion. Nydekion's stun in particular borders on retarded. Shuyin hits like a freight train.

"Demi-gank," by definition, requires no ability to fight. Just point the weapons and click-click. That's why it's ganking! Not "Demi-die-a-lot-squads."

Except when it comes to group fights, I lag so much I go click-click but my weapons don't get pointed.

The only thing our Demisquad does is kill every person I manage to sap and a 'Sweet, thanks for the essence, Alianna!' sometime after that.
Unknown2008-08-17 07:41:06
Hm.. anyone ever thought of bugging aggressive stance? I mean, if it's so much out of whack it got to be a bug.. no?
EDIT: If it's classified as bug it would *gasp* actually get fixed.

I hope your demi-gank squad is itching to show you right now.
And yeah, Celenwilde has a demi-gank squad that has such nice things as Aegis, TrueHeal/Serpent/DivineFire, and whatever nice things forestals/paladins get makes demesne-weaklings like me so jealous.

If you're afflicted with an afflict that falls under the disease category, the next time the song tics, you get damaged. The more disease afflictions you have, the higher the damage will be.
