This may be a stupid question but i'm just currious about the tempest last night that was killing loads of people.
All I saw was the deathsight spam, can anyone fill in the details?
Zalandrus2008-08-14 14:14:36
I think that was the Celest Farain/Tresalyne event...

Can somebody present for it summarize what happened? I only caught the very beginning sad.gif
Noola2008-08-14 15:00:11
Yeah, a summary (preferably full of detail and color) for those of us unable to have witnessed would be much appreciated.

I know everything up until the end when the wind starting kill everyone, and Eventru started showing off.
Meliana2008-08-14 15:35:13
Ok so bare with me I was there for most of it but not everything.

It started out with the Celestines having dreams of a ship, jewel laden chests, the Celestian greathouse of Farain, a celestial being at our sides(much like our angel companions) and inevitably a shipwreck. Eventually we find the shipwreck and the three chests within. We had to fight off masses of mutant kelpies and then whisked them off to Celest to be opened. Two went to the Palace I think? The third came to the Celestine guildhall. Now one of the Farain opened the two chests and of course in them were the new champ artis for two of the guilds. But for the third chest light essence had to be gathered and when it was ready to be opened it gave a little speech about onlhy being opened by the, GM, GA or Champ. Talkan opened it and a putrid smell and a whisper were heard. Jarana Farain rushed away and Torili said he needed to speak with Elohora.

Here the chest descriptions: (was able to paint them before we moved them from the shipwreck)

"painting91360" a painting of an elaborate golden chest
"painting71341" a painting of an elaborate platinum chest
"painting51483" a painting of an elaborate chest of white gold

Brilliant yellow gold flows together to form the seamless frame of this chest,
lining sides of brilliant white wood, lined and swirled with golden knots. Each
of its four sides have been emblazoned with a different symbol - each
referencing one of the four Supernals Methrenton, Raziela, Shakiniel and
Japhiel. The whole of the precious metal frame has been decorated with detailed
etchings of angels and cherubs, each caught in a unique pose, their expressions
enraptured with unbridled bliss.

Cold blue platinum flows together to form the seamless frame of this chest,
lining sides of a softer, more serene platinum. Each of its four sides have been
etched with a different symbol - each as mysterious as its predecessor - a
crossed circle, an hourglass over an inverted triangle, among stranger designs -
some more elaborate than others, while each retains its own - if simplistic -
beauty. Topping the lid of the chest is the serene figure of an imperial merian,
their gender indeterminate. Elegant fins, their aquamarine gemstone composition
in tact, stretch out behind their ears, as though eternally listening for
something.

Shimmering white gold flows together to form the seamless frame of this chest,
lining sides of golden honeysap wood. Though unadorned, the natural whorls and
knots of the wood give it a sort of graceful, if simplistic, beauty. A single
symbol has been hand-carved into the front panel, the imperial seal of Emperor
Ladantine VII. Dominating the upper-half of the chest is the graceful and regal
depiction of a beautiful imperial merian, her golden fins delicately shaped.
thin platinum scales cover her neck and face, their brilliant white sheen
contrasting with her dark violet gemstone eyes.

The next RL day Torili began complaining about an awful smell permeating the guildhall. I spoke with him and he told me the only place that didnt stink was the Mausoleum where Saint Tresalynes remains were. The smell got so bad it started drifting through Celest. Torili became afraid and said the insane voices were calling for Tresalyne and everything. Everything beginning "You, me everything" Torili retreated to the Mausoleum for safety and tried blocking out the voices to the point that he was sobbing. A little later he told me he knew where the stench was coming from so with Gyorn I went to the Garden of Prayer in our guildhall and a wind of stench and voices swept through killing all plantlife and destroying everything in the room. From then the wind continued nest taking the observatory tower where Edathic barely managed to escape. In the end the entire Celestine guildhall was consumed save for the Mausoleum. As per Elohora(thanks to Kaalak an Telperion) I removed all of our guildbooks in time so we didnt lose them.

The wind turned out to be tempest I believe Aison posted a descrip of it somewhere. At this point we needed to fix a scar that marked Tresalyne so we had to gather essence again but the tempest started attacking and Torili said something about us taking too long? So we started attacking them. Which is what all the deaths were! I left for a bit and when I came back Tresalyne had been awakened and with Jarana and Torili they fought the tempest. I think Lord Eventru ended up getting them out of the city. At the end of the fight the Mausoleum collapsed with Torili in the rubble and at this time we don't know if he's alive or dead and the Celestines must now rebuild their guildhall. So it's techincally still going on.

The whole destruction of the guildhall was GREAT. All in all (except for the essence gathering) it's been a really fun and interesting event. I'll post some of the dreams later and Aison added some of the room descrips somewhere in forums.

What happened to her after everything?
Furien2008-08-14 16:02:07
Torili and Tres-summat? Dead, supposedly.

Jarana's going to help the Celestines rebuild the guildhall.
Zalandrus2008-08-14 16:03:27
Thanks Meli!!

(If we had such cool summaries of all events as they happened, I would be such a happy player...<3 Meli)

And wasn't Tresalyne dead to begin with? He was in a Masuloeum.
Unknown2008-08-14 16:14:58
Randomness: Aha! I has searched the scrolls of the elder wars and decided that the tempest is a very weired half formed!

Back to the point though, Tresalyne was frosen inside the pearl- I think. Either way, I want more elaboration on what the winds were pwease!
Meliana2008-08-14 16:17:43
Aye Tresalyne was dead. I'm not sure how she ( I swear I've always thought tres was a dude...) was brought to life. Maybe the essence we used to repair the scars?
Unknown2008-08-14 16:18:01
But the half-formed are stuck in thier creche.

Odd, I could've sworn the painting in the Seminery described Tresalyne as merian male.
Unknown2008-08-14 16:23:43
The half-formed are not stuck in their creche. Just because the DL and the Supernals stay there all the time, doesn't mean their stuck there. The Second Circle even use to hunt Half-formed.

They are "stuck" in their creche. If a half-formed leaves their creche for too long they will go insane. The half-formed that the second circle hunted were the insane ones that were out of their creche for too long.
Unknown2008-08-14 16:34:43
They can still leave it though, so it's possible that the tornado was an insane half-form.
Meliana2008-08-14 16:38:45
I'm staying at my uncles this week so I dont have my comp hence no logs so unless someone who was there...maybe Gyron could post it? It basically just whipped through the room like a stinky wind and said something about insane voices. Then you'd see everything around you start to die, wilt, in the case of the stained glass images of the Supernals it ran and made them look horrifying.

The Tempest:
Lack any true form, this swirling mass of wind reeks of decay and death, burning
the nose, throat and sinuses as it is inhaled. An alarming desire to flee wells
within you simply by gazing upon it, as the air in your lungs turns stale and
filthy, thick and acrid, burning the insides as well as the flesh on the
outside. A horrible, oppressive intelligence burns through your mind, battering
you constantly with its probing, alien presence.
A swirling, acidic tempest looks to be crushingly strong.
He is strangely weightless.
You cannot see what a swirling, acidic tempest is holding.

And the room that the destruction started in:
Garden of Prayer.
This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. The bright sun
shines down, blanketing you with its life-giving warmth. A once elegant fountain
sits at the centre of this open aired terrace, one layer spilling putrid water
endlessly into the next, wisps of white ash twisting about the soft mist that
hovers in the air above. Pocked and scarred, once carefully placed stones now
litter the ground the ground that encircles the fountain, and four scarred and
burnt stone benches rest at the edge of this small plaza. Behind the benches,
brown and dying plantlife and brittle, dead vegetation litter the edge of the
garden and evoke a sense of foreboding within the courtyard. From within the
dying flora, five pairs of stone columns extend skyward, each pair connected at
its apex by a scarred arch - each column scarred deeply in grooves and pits.
Inside each arch, the vibrant colours of stained glass paint the portraits of
the Holy Supernals, smeared and running as though slowly melting, turning the
celestial depictions into hideous, horrible nightmares A sigil in the shape of a
small, rectangular monolith is on the ground. An imposing sword of radiant white
metal has been driven deep into the ground in a silent statement of intent. A
baby rat timidly moves in the shadows here. A full-grown rat prowls near your
feet. Tonni Ama'nar'isil, Disciple of the Exalted is here. He wields a twin
dragon tahto staff with both hands. Ecclesiar Messara is here. Merciful Judge
Meliana Dekoven, Purity of the Exalted is here. She wields a radiant symbol of
love in her left hand and a glowing powerstone in her right.
You see exits leading west and in.
Meliana2008-08-14 16:46:04
Here's a dream sent to me by Aurelie:

Your eyes dart across the orders in your hand, scrawled in an
elegant, flowing script in silvery ink. Your heart races and beats as you read
them again and again, each time raising your eyes to look out across the Crystal
Sea from your private balcony. You shift your gaze down to the harbour, where a
magnificent ship is making ready, is billowing sails glowing radiantly in the
full noon light - looking as though they were angel's wings themselves. You
smile widely, the first smile in what you realize must be days, if not more. You
turn and pass under the archway back into your room, sparing a loving gaze at
the inverted cross that rests above it - a pair of detailed angel wings arching
above it.

Before anyone gets confused, Saint Tresalyne was male.

As far as I know they were his remains but he wasn't in a coffin, he was in some magical pearl-like thing. We have no history on how/when he died (the first time). Which does suck something awful, because we are in need of some solid history for our guild.

Odd, I could've sworn the painting in the Seminary described Tresalyne as merian male.

They can leave, but it's dangerous for them to, and there is no reason they would ever leave unless in danger (or in Raziela's case, being forced to leave). For the Supernals, if the taint were to come to Celestia to try and warp them, they would battle it back as long as they could before fleeing.

I got all this from Talkan:

Languidly, as though waking from a deep sleep, an angelic figure of light rises out of the pearl encased remains of Saint Tresalyne, composed purely of liquid light - the fans behind his ears rise and fall slowly, as he shakes his head.

(House Aurendil): Talkan (from the Aetherways) says, "Foul winds blow in from
the outside, twisting wildly as they brush against your flesh, causing it to
blister and burn painfully. The very walls of the Mausoleum begin to smoke, and
the figure of light rises upwards, spreading brilliant wings wide."

(House Aurendil): Talkan (from the Aetherways) says, "Clenching her hands,
Jarana Farain exclaims, "Foul creature! You are mine!""

(House Aurendil): Talkan (from the Aetherways) says, "Jarana Farain rushes
forward her hands raised, chanting wildly, beseeching the Supernals for power.
Each of her radiant bracers glow brighter, the light expanding to envelop her
completely. The shell necklace about her neck glows with a soft, azure light,
and her robes, once whipping about from the winds, still as though enveloped in
a calm."

(House Aurendil): Talkan (from the Aetherways) says, "The winds, twisting and
congealing into a swirling, acidic tempest, which rages wildly about the inside
of the mausoleum."

(House Aurendil): Talkan (from the Aetherways) says, "With an angry, zealous cry
Jarana Farain dives into the wind, her arms sweeping wide as cosmic and
celestial fire lances from her fingertips, her golden crest and fins shining
brilliantly through the obfuscating winds."

(House Aurendil): Talkan (from the Aetherways) says, "His eyes alight with
passion, Torili races forward, his golden wings tucked in close against the
wind, launching forward his burning ball of celestial light, which burns through
the winds in a dazzling dislay - eliciting only angry murmurs and whispers from
the tempest."

(House Aurendil): Talkan (from the Aetherways) says, "A figure of celestial
light rushes forward into the howling, terrible winds, his lips moving
wordlessly in prayer. Streaks of brilliant light race out from his wings,
battling against the poisonous winds and repelling the force of the presence."

(House Aurendil): Talkan (from the Aetherways) says, "Torili, Instructor of
Light raises a hand towards the churning winds, and a dazzling fountain of
celestial light engulfs it. The winds writhe and burn while gripped in this holy
blaze, but quickly dispel it."

(House Aurendil): Talkan (from the Aetherways) says, "The winds swirl and howl
angrily as they push surge inwards, whipping about you in a horrible, angry
scream. The maddening whispers linger in your mind, as though felt instead of
heard. The figure of celestial light spreads his wings, sending beams of light
that rush outwards and envelop you, shielding you against the howling winds."

(House Aurendil): Talkan (from the Aetherways) says, "As the winds beat against
the shield, you hear the furious cry of Torili, Instructor of Light as he
battles against the madness, rising up against the foul and acidic winds."

(House Aurendil): Talkan (from the Aetherways) says, "Well it quickly dispelled
it!"

(House Aurendil): Talkan (from the Aetherways) says, "A figure of celestial
light and Torili, Instructor of the Light speak in unison, "Run, my children,
and I shall hold this creature back! I fought it once in life, and now we shall
hold it still! Go! Go!""
