Just figured since Fall is coming up, i'd post a thread about College. Just want to find out where everybody is attending, what they're studying, and how long they've been going, and how much longer they plan on staying.

Myself
Dixie State College of Utah
Pursuing an Associates of Science in Business, followed by a Bachelor's in Accounting.
Starting this fall, allthough i have already taken 46 credits via concurrent enrollment in HS.
Plan to spend about 3-4 years, interrupted by 2 years on an LDS mission.

Myrkyr's post reminded me that i forgot to add in what courses you will be studying this semester.
Mine are: Math 1100(Business Calculus), Accounting 2010, Economics 2010, Statistics 2040, and Communications 2110(Interpersonal Business Communications)
I will be living on campus, because as much as I love driving(i'm a car fanatic), i can't afford gas anymore.
My classes all end by 2 in the afternoon, when i go to work until 6.

I'm actually looking forward to going to college for the first time!

I'm really excited to learn new things, and find out how many things I didn't know. I guess I'm a bit of a dork.

I'm also trying to decide between taking Pistol Shooting 101 for next semester or joining the Rifle Team. biggrin.gif

Yes, you do. I've held and used a rifle and pistol before. And a gun I don't remember the name of, but my sister Maria's husband is in the army and he asked me to hold it while he went to the bathroom. (Maria was in the bathroom too. I felt so bad-ass holding it. It was a sexy gun.)

Where: Algoma University College, Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada. (Not the American one, though I do plan to go shopping there!)
What: Geography as my current program, as well as Geology. Then rather assorted bits of history, computers, business management, etc.
How long: It's currently a three year program with an optional fourth year at Laurentian University in Sudbury, when talking with me earlier in the year they said they were considering bringing the fourth year to that campus so their students didn't have to transfer in their last year. I move up in two weeks actually.
Also of note: This year is the first year Algoma University will stand on its own outside of the Laurentian University.

Where: The State University of New York at Potsdam; the border of Canada and New York (PS: Dylara, you're close by!).
What: Bachelors in Professional Writing and Linguistics
How long: I have probably a year and a half left before I've finished the BA. I haven't decided if I'm going to apply for my Masters here or if I'll try for somewhere else (read: somewhere warm).

Where: Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
What: My major is Philosophy. Yes, philosophy. Don't judge me. My actual courses are: Great Works of Philosophy, Intro. to Metaphysics, Intro. to Ethics, Political Science, Intro. to Classics, and World Religions.
How long: Four years. Depending on how that goes, I plan for either law school or to go all out for a phd in Philosophy.

Fix'd. For myself.

I want to head over to law school eventually, but if I find my next four years particularly interesting, I may look into going all the way and aiming to become a professor.

I graduated nearly 12 years ago. Obviously, a computer science major. smile.gif

P.S. If you study Philosophy, English, or History as your major, you just might end up working for a MUD some day! (It's either that or McDonald's...)
