I can do London as long as its a weekend. Going to burn a hole in my pocket though, bloody southern prices!
Shiri2009-12-04 09:00:43
I guess I could take the train, depending on the date...

Gonna get a fursuit so you can be an anthromorphic badger?
Fain2009-12-04 09:43:43
Charune's in London for a limited time only.

I haven't discussed it with him yet, but I think the date which makes most sense is the 29th. Which is not a weekend, sorry Chade, but close enough to Xmas to fall within the holiday bracket.
Chade2009-12-04 13:12:45
I get back from Australia on 23rd December, so I might be in London by then. It depends on if I'm doing New Years in London or Newcastle. If I'm around then I'll pop over for a drink to say hi.

I'd probably just change to human male and fix the desc, but I don't know if I'm prepared to take a train down to London wearing bathrobes and sandals with phoenixes permanent marker'd onto them.

I'll be at this meet as well, though I won't be dressing up in tentacles etc surprisingly. tongue.gif
Chade2009-12-04 15:04:40
Definitely going to have to make time to attend this, just so I can get Fain, Morg and Charune drunk then take compromising photos which I can sell to Estarra for Credits evil.gif

EDIT: Although revealing my master plan at this early juncture could be its undoing.

EDIT2: Which part of London were you thinking of for the meet? I'm usually based around Hammersmith when I'm in London so I'm central enough to be able to get anywhere easily.

I was thinking somewhere conveniently central. Possibly in the Holborn, Covent Garden, Fleet Street area as that's where I work and ordinarily drink.

Edit: If there are transport problems it may make more sense to find a pub near one of the London terminals for general convenience.

Those areas are all easy for me to get too, shouldn't be hard for anyone coming into London from the North either. The guys congregated around the Midlands (Shiri, Ilyarin etc) should all arrive at Kings Cross so they can hop on the Piccadilly line down to Covent Garden or Holborn pretty easy. Covent Garden would be ok for a drink, haven't worked there in a couple of years but some nice places nearby. Used to work in Aldwych too, which is right down the road from Holborn, never drank there but I'm assuming since LSE and Kings are nearby that there should be some decent pubs about.

I'd offer places to stay if it was Newcastle but its my girlfriends house in London so wouldn't be ok, there are some decent backpackers hostels around Covent Garden, Piccadilly Circus area that cost around £10-18 a night.

EDIT: Actually, I'm talking crap. Midlands area arrives in at Euston, which is a bit more of a pain since they'd need to change to get to Holborn/Covent Garden area, but still isn't too bad.

Damn, I would love to meet you guys and have a few drinks, but unfortunately working a lot over Christmas (plus it costs FAR too much this close for a Train/Coach).

Perhaps next time though! content.gif

Psh - Megabus, its nasty, takes 7 hours and is cramped as hell but it only costs £8 if you book now.

EDIT: Ok, £10 each way, still not too bad though sad.gif

Excellent. Let me know when you and Fain are organising this meet and I'll buy you a welcome to England beer, or 10 evil.gif

Well, in any case - Euston to Holborn is barely a ten minute walk - and Kings X to Euston is a 5 minute one.

Depends on the route you take. tongue.gif I was at Birkbeck Uni on Saturday and decided to 'wing it' from there to Forbidden Planet not bothering with any major roads...

...the Aldwych?!? wtf?!? wtf.gif

If I'm back from Wales when this meet occurs I will probably come down for a drink or two three smile.gif

Heh, I used to work in Aldwych at the Natwest. Nice place.

As to Fain, I'm so used to travelling to different tube stops for work, I never end up walking anywhere in London so its really hard for me to figure out what the hell is going on above ground - I just get lost tongue.gif
