Ashteru2009-02-26 18:30:49
Oh man. Jonas is one of Ash's dears. He and Tadian are basically the only proteges he ever had he really is proud of and likes. Everyone thinks Jonas is Ash's puppet, but Ash really put him as GM because he believes he will do good.
Unknown2009-02-26 18:46:28
Jonas comes across as very young, which is odd, since he's now in a position of rather high standing. Sadhyra sees that as a result of Ashteru throwing a sulk and doesn't really think his title means much - he's a placeholder, in her eyes. As with most family, she tends to ignore the fact that they are related, except when it's convenient. I think, from a more OOC standpoint, it would have been better for Jonas to slowly work his way to the top - being made GM like this will only make people think of him as somewhat of a joke. Hopefully, he can grow into the role and become a good, strong leader.

Vena is someone Sadhyra sees as a fool. Sadhyra has little respect for those who talk big and insult, but can't back words up with ability - trying to extract punishment for (what Sadhyra sees as) the deserved consequences of those words has earned Vena an enemy. She thinks the move a poor power play, especially considering the current relations between Mag and Glom. Note, this might be Nariah merely running with an opportunity, and Vena being an excuse, but it comes across as Vena trying to get revenge. OOC-wise, I like the Illithoid/Kephera frigidity. smile.gif

Somaria. Oh, Somaria. Lots of history here, and I love it. Sadhyra is slowly discovering that she is more her mother's daughter than she cares to admit, and that discovery is frightening her. Nocht's bald declaration that Somaria and Sadhyra act the same has left her shaken - she's working to temper her actions, which have veered towards the cold and calculating lately, with love, passion and empathy, aborting machinations she's found herself in. The result of this is a renewed bitterness towards her mother, and a disdain for the rest of the family. Somaria is a well-crafted character, with depth to her personality and careful thought put into every choice and action she makes - a joy to interact with.

Kiriwe - OOC, I think she's well thought out and entertaining. Love it. IC, Sadhyra finds her a disgrace and a simpleton with serious maturity issues. Based on the few encounters they have had, Sadhyra will likely be seeking her out again when she's in a bad mood, using the girl as a bit of a verbal punching bag to take out her mommy issues on. >_> Props, though, to the well conceived and consistent character.

Mihewi - very few, often brief interactions, but Mihewi's love and dedication for the Glomdoring has earned her high regard in her sister's eyes, overriding the negatives of family association. She's a quiet character, but one who is wise and kind, capturing that essence of a female matron, I suppose. Like...Betty Crocker, just somewhat twisted.
kiriwe2009-02-26 19:25:17
Hmm, some more family.

Kiriwe looks at Sadhyra and sees a giant bug with an instrument. She knows that she left the family, and doesn't like Somaria, so she frowns on that, since family is the most important thing in her opinion. The one time she remembers talking to her, her insectoid aunt randomly (in her eyes) attacked a citymate, who happened to be illithoid, without provocation, making her more than a little fearful of what she's capable of.

Mihewi is Kiriwe's doting mother. Gruff but good-natured, she spoils her daughter, providing her with just about anything she could ask for. She has strong opinions on various matters concerning her progeny, but only voices them when she is concerned about the well-being of her only child. Kiriwe loves Mihewi very much, even though she is feeling rather rebellious, and tries not to hurt her feelings, except for when she's mad and lashes out.

Celina The cold and heartless zealot. Iorden sees a lot of Sthai on her, with an added dose of restrained hostility, from her general mannerisms to the way that she carries herself around. She is generally disliked by a lot of people (otherwise she wouldn't be playing the role just right).

Kiriwe One of the very few people to ever bother taking some time to talk with Iorden. Naive, childish and eccentric on her tastes (quite tame compared with Lyla...) but willing to learn and find her place on the Basin.

Jigan Loads of fun. Behind the stark raving mad façade, he hides a deep and twisted kind of wisdom or so I've noticed.

(Iorden consistently goes out of his way to avoid interacting with people, so I wouldn't be surprised if most people doesn't know a thing about him.)

Ashteru - Ashteru is simply un-unlikeable. He's a good friend to Synl's warrior/fun aspect (as opposed to say, Emar or Xenthos, being friends for the Messiah/Sage business). Ashteru's a lone wolf in that despite consistently being surrounded by people (which he likes to imagine as his fans), he's really transient in his relations. Not only his personal relations, but in his relation to the Glomdoring, his guilds, etc. He fades in and out, doing what he wants, and occasionally even helping the people around him (though certainly not intentionally).

Somaria - First, I must say that despite being rather disappointed by the lack of sportsmanship displayed in her actions, those actions have allowed Synl to develop an important ideal by which to live. That is, Synl finds the idea of following a Divine rather amusing (he will only ever refer to learning from Nocht, not following... except maybe in front of him), especially on the level that Somaria devoted herself to Fain. Synl was aware of Fain's presence in Somaria for quite some time, thanks to Emar and Arel, but cared little as he finds such deception senseless. Somaria proved to be interesting, at times amusing, up until the point where she outright betrayed the Cult - this caused, of course, roused Synl's normally suppressed emotions. He is back to mellow, chuckling self as times goes on and he finds the glory of the Cult being rebuilt... that is, Somaria was interesting during her time, but history does not stop with a single person.

Sadhyra - Because I feel like it, really. Sadhyra is easily placed in the new generation of Glooms, but she differs from most due to her genuine will to work. Sadhyra reminds Synl of Ragniliff in that she is always seeking to act (although Sadhyra is more haughty, and likes others to recognize her acts). Sadhyra being a Kephera bothers Synl little, partially because he accepts all who work, because she is favoured by Ashteru, and because she's a Queen herself, one arrogant enough to not be enslaved by the hivemind.
Somaria2009-02-26 20:14:24
Synl - Somaria respects and fears Synl to a high degree. She knew going into the Wyrden forest that Fain still weighed heavily inside of her and always felt as if Synl could see right through her good intentions to the Fainite essence that lingered. She genuinely didn't want to do many of the things she did, often tugged back and forth because of her previous involvement. Though she rarely sees Synl, she watches his location very carefully in hopes to avoid him. His shortness with her during her time as a subordinate to him only served to worsen her tension and speed her fit of complete insanity. In many ways, as a player, I'm glad this happened, because Somaria would have never moved on from groveling before Fain if she hadn't snapped for a little while. Synl was a pleasure to be around, if a little challenging, due to the differences in our characters (Synl being more in control while Somaria is overly emotional).

Synl is awesome. He's this...enigmatic, creepy, highly-skilled character. A true ninja. Sadhyra will pretty much do anything he says without second-guessing him; he's that competent and confident in his competence. Whenever he shows up at a revolt or so on, there is immediate trust from her. He's one of the very strong and impressive leaders of the Glomdoring, in her eyes.

Suppose we have, but I think Glom is a rather strong outpost for RP atm. Clearly, everyone should make an alt and find out! And by RP, I don't mean just extended conversations and emoting, but also consistent and impressve character portrayals. At our nexus, people will randomly have quick, bristling exchanges about race or beliefs, just as side effects, throwaway additions to the daily grind. Eg, while linking, I might rattle my carapace or Ciaran might flit among the tree's shadow or some Illithoid might mutter about bugs. That kind of extra touch we see right now in Glom makes for fun!

At our nexus you might be lucky if you see anything at all other than 'blah influences a guard *250', 'greet miakoda' *10, 'a leaf falls from the tree' *100. Clearly our nexus is a more happening place. We don't need to make it better with this thing called RP.

Let's see, I figure I can make an attempt for Alysi and Zynna.

Alysi: Kira misses Alysi. She remembers the first time she met him, and feels bad that after she brought him to Celest, she has had very limited opportunities to interact with him. She feels responsible for him leaving and joining Serenwilde, and feels that she should have done more to make him feel welcome and at home in Celest, despite knowing that there was little more she could have done. From what she remembers, Alysi was what you can call a "gentle giant". He has a very good heart, and is introspective enough to realize his own flaws and limits.

Zynna: Kira hasn't spoken too much with Zynna, but each time she does, it's a pleasure. Zynna is incredibly courteous and kind... and genuine. That is what Kira loves about Zynna. In a world where almost everyone is working just for glory and recognition, it's nice to see someone with an actual charitable spirit. Kira feels that Zynna has this. In essence, Kira can't say a single bad word about Zynna yet from her encounters.
Unknown2009-02-26 20:57:15
Zynna: Raikogen has absolutely nothing bad to say about Zynna even after having known her for so many years. Though Raikogen has been gone for a -long- time, Zynna still seems to remain the same super nice, hard working person she always was. A hard worker when she was young, a hard worker now when she is older ... an all around wonderful person.

This is a typical 14 second period (in regards to spam levels) at our nexus. I feel sorry for newbies using the portal exit to the nexus (true newbies I mean).

Prompts removed through the middle to cut down the spam slightly.

Nariah2009-02-26 22:33:57
Nariah has mixed feelings about Grigoloth. On the one hand, she is fond of him having helped him a bit when he was a confused novice. He definitely had potential and no ur'Guard was taking care of him, so she did the best poking she could of a few old bears to look after him, and acted the friendly helper type. On the other, he turned out to be an y'Kaliath thus immediately on the no-no list. She is rather disappointed that he proved to be foolish enough to risk his growth by associating with them, in fact, flaunting it. He probably doesn't realise the full weight of this association but as a viscanti he should definitely be more cunning. Because of all that he is slowly declining on her list from 'the future of Magnagora' back to 'a Magnagoran labourer'.

I'd like to post some Seren people, just to prove that Serenwilde does have roleplay (gasp!). None of the people Serella knows have posted though ._.

Anyway, as other people have said, there's not very much roleplay at the Moonhart. Occasionally if enough of the right people are around, we can have an interesting conversation, but mostly it's guardspam/mapspam/pilgrimspam/etc.

-resists the temptation to make another Glom alt-
Unknown2009-02-26 22:53:19
Lets see...

Raikogen Kialkarkea has never interacted with much. He seems nice though.
Razenth Kial has never interacted with period. He doesn't seem like a bad sort though. Instead of falling in with the angry warmongering crowd Kial sees so often though, he seems to be what he feels Celest should be: Stern, but not angry.
Meliana Is a very nice person. Kial's never really felt comfortable around her, since she's just an alien person to him, and in not just a position of (relative) power to him, but in a position of opposition. Still, he'll got to bat for her if he needs to.
Sadhyra Kial doesn't know much. She's a Glom though, and she seems to do a good job, so he won't bother her. She does seem a little prideful, and as we all know, Kial is(in his mind) superior to all others.
Gregori Seren. Kial doesn't know or care to know about anything else about him.
Everiine Eh? Who now?
Eliron2009-02-26 23:55:22
Meliana - One of the few Celestians El's genuinely struck a friendship with, somewhat to Eliron's surprise. His Glomdoring perspective says anyone with such strong ties to Raziela/the Light/Hugs/Puppies should be far too fragile. Instead, Eliron has found himself respecting her as a fellow GA capable of holding office in a large guild for years, someone able to thoroughly love Eventru without mindlessly agreeing with everything that person says, someone dedicated to their own home, and someone willing to talk to Glooms. He thoroughly enjoys their conversations, and feels comfortable actually discussing some of the difference between Glom/Celest without worrying about it degrading into insults so long as he is polite.

Daedalion - an amazing man ruined by his passions. Before Daedalion left Glom, El viewed him as a strong warrior, surprisingly creative and a good manipulator (in what Eliron considers a good way for a Harbinger/Glomdoring) and quite dedicated. Now El views him as so besotted by Somaria he's lost his reason and his skill. Eliron found Daedalion's attempts to manipulate him into sympathy against Urazial so blatant and ill suited that Eliron holds him in the greatest contempt not for betraying the Harbingers, but for having lost that skill.

Somaria - utterly dangerous because of her combination of selfishness, instability and charisma. She's charmed not only a formerly loyal guild leader, but impressed Eliron's own husband. Eliron holds a certain respect for her charisma and courage in admitting an error in robbing the Harbinger's shop, but still wants her no where near Glom out of a belief Dae's defection was her fault and she would do more damage if given any leeway.

(IC only opinion on those two!)

Sadhyra - creative and dedicated, Eliron is extremely proud of Sadhyra as a protege. He finds her pride and temper a liability, but thinks she is growing up nicely. Eliron is also proud of Sadhyra for rejecting the y'Kaliath family and takes it as a mark of her strength. He views Sadhyra as someone he can rely on, but sees signs of strain in her and worries about her taking on too much too young.

Serella - that Serenwilder who should not make another alt but play as Lyrinae more often. tongue.gif

Xenthos - intimidates the crap out of Eliron. Eliron still hasn't figured out why- Xenthos has never been less than friendly, willing to help, dedicated to Glom, all those things Eliron loves, etc. etc. Even Eliron's children don't seem as intimadate by Xenthos as Eliron is. We may never know why.
