I miss Shikari. It was fun trying to join his order while being Hartstone.

I honestly thought this thread was going to be about recyling IG or something. Whew.

I take offense to the suggestion Shikari would be a neutral god.
I said Neutral-ish. I can totally picture some Ur'Guard who follow his teachings while taking Tracking, and I would not consider far fetched for a Charunite Paladin
Now, with the whole Hunter/Hunt/Predator/Prey thing Charune and Shikari have, I can picture an uneasy alliance sometimes via them or even a great struggle between them, killing each other by nature.
As for Auskelis, I believe he would've enjoyed being both served by Glomdoring and Serenwilde, because, didn't he created the Tree of Trees?

Who told you the true secret of Elostians creation
Evette2008-08-27 07:45:34
Honestly if Shikari came back I'd hop on the bandwagon as fast as I could. No offense Elostian it just fits Evette more so then Elostian. Finding a greater teachings in everything is fine and dandy and all, but Evette's really into bettering herself, hunting, stealth, secrets. If not for Vira's past players being really sort of mean to Evette, she'd have joined her. Not to mention it's a little to popular for me, too expected. Go Go being the oddball!
So I guess, recycle Shikari!!!!

Wellllllll... technically, he is.
He's aligned because of his sister, but he didn't have an actual direct connection to things left behind in the Forest after the War (like Night/Nocht or Crow/Viravain). Without Vira, he'd probably have been unaligned.
However, his whole "loyalty" angle, and Vira being his sister, planted him pretty firmly in Glom alongside her. People not really looking at that part of it could easily consider him neutral, however.

To argue that Shikari would not have joined Glomdoring if he had not been Viravain's brother seems like a bit of a dead argument to me. It's like saying, if Morgfyre hadn't been one of the Traitors, he would never have joined Magnagora.

Perhaps. Still, I see a bit of a distinction (on an OOC level) between an actual tie to the organization itself (a bond to the Spirits due to their creation, an attraction to the Taint, love of Angels, etc) and simply a tie to a God. Especially given the whole here/gone thing that some of the Divine have going. It's more a question of teaching/ideals, I suppose.
Of course, for Shikari, that tie is Everything. But if you aren't really fully aware of it, it wouldn't be hard at all to see him as a neutral-ish God, since he does not have a direct tie to the Glomdoring's ideals.

I just thought he was a nice character concept.
edit: Also, want a patron I don't feel so bad about having. (Sorry to you both for choosing the day before She returned!)
Urazial2008-08-27 16:01:37
I'd definitely like to see more non aligned gods, though I think perhaps too much of that might possibly be counter-productive to the game as rogues aren't really encouraged. Either that, or for Gloms to be allowed more freedom in choosing patrons. Viravain and Nocht's orders don't seem to be growing (mind you I wouldn't know if they are or aren't- when Urazial inquired in regards to either they were not taking more members) so the only option left is Elostian which is fine, but somewhat limiting in regards to roleplay.
As far as new people taking on old god roles, I think it a good opportunity to breathe life into the Lusternian mythos. Not everyone will want to assume an established god role, of course, but for those that do I think it would provide interesting to see the personal tweaks they put on it to make it their own.
EDIT: Evidently I cannot make an appointment for a doctor and post properly at the same time :/
