Oh, and since Shaddus was lying, did our actual cop (hope we have one) find anything?

You seem to be fishing for roles. I don't like that.

VOTE: SHIRI

Heh, ninja'd by Xavius. Hi Xavius!

Vote: Shiri

Two big reasons. One is the very reactionary anti-Rika push early on. The other is the very early fishing for power roles just a couple posts above this. Scummy McScum.

The other option I want to look at is Rika. While Rika doesn't seem as scummy as Shiri, the scummish defense was definitely Rika-centric. If we lynch Rika and she turns up scum, we can probably catch most of the rest by methodically clearing out everyone else that jumped to her rescue, or spare the rest if her role reveal turns up clean. Lynching Rika's scummiest looking associate doesn't actually give us any information to go by for the rest of the game.

These are bad reasons. Why on earth would I defend Rika from a completely baseless bandwagon before she even woke up, only to jump on a fellow scum (Shaddus) who was under no suspicion except mine from his dubious comments, then keep pressuring him until a lynch? Furthermore, why would Shaddus be bandwagoning Rika for dubious reasons for me to defend her from him in the first place!? The scenario you would have to invent to justify this is retarded.

Secondly, hoping a cop found another scum to lynch is fishing for power roles? I know you're normally better at mafia than this.

That said, you also helped off Shaddus and without communication you couldn't've known he'd make his roleclaim like that, so for today I'm going to go with the assumption that you're just playing badly because you're short on info. I suggest we get some content out of Saran and Xikue.
Arix2008-09-03 02:29:04
I see a Xikue, right there behind that rock.
Shiri2008-09-03 02:49:23
Yeah, definitely leaving my vote on Xikue, saw her pass through here and she didn't say anything at all.
Arix2008-09-03 02:52:07
You never voted for Xikue

Yes I did.
Arix2008-09-03 02:55:59
That's Xiran
Shiri2008-09-03 02:57:53
doh.gif It's the same person, obviously.
Unknown2008-09-03 03:20:57
Xikue was my first Lusternia character. I soon abandoned her for Xiran.

I realise I haven't posted much, but Shiri's jumpiness strikes me as odd.
Daganev2008-09-03 03:22:42
Not -obviously- , That could have been anyone. Please vote for people by their actual forum name... it confuses the hell out of me when you use some random charachter name for people.
Xavius2008-09-03 03:25:04
Or make the names known! Archer2 is Lowe. Shiri is Nejii. Furien is Alianna, but Furien is out. I think that's all the ones that you'd need to know.

Is that all you're going to supply? "Shiri's jumpiness strikes me as odd"?

Also wierd that my german usage suspicion was correct. Why is shiri making it so complicated?

Actually, shiri is probably the SK, that would explain his behavior and why he was pushing for Shaddus.

vote Shiri (he was also the only other person to really stick to this german line of talking)

What do you mean your german usage suspicion is correct? It was -in-correct. I explained this already. Did you read Shaddus' roleclaim? There's nothing about Germans in there. I just assumed it from the pictures and the image called to mind by my role (i.e WW2 era probably-British soldier with out-of-fashion name.)

And how would being an SK explain -any- of that?
Unknown2008-09-03 03:41:17
I kind of view Shiri as the confident sort in these games, so his changing of votes yesterday was strange to watch. It's a bit of a leap to conclude he's the SK though.

And the pictures do make me think of World War II. The soldier with a slashed sleeve was wearing a German helmet.
Saran2008-09-03 03:42:12
While yes, voting for quiet people is a nice strategy. I have to agree that Shiri seems sus, it's reminding me a little of how he played when he was in a cult once.

I don't particularly feel like bandwagoning but if he continues I just might. Another possibility is that Shiris role is a german while all others are the allies. (escape pow now seeking revenge or something)
Xavius2008-09-03 03:42:26
I think the assumption that there is a serial killer, as opposed to a vigilante, is solid. Two kills on the first night isn't smart vig play. So, it got me to thinking, what would an SK aim for? I've never played one. I'm thinking that a smart SK's first goal would be to survive, and the second goal would be to knock off all power roles, be they scum or town. Shiri's doing a pretty poor job of goal number one--no way he'd stick his neck out to save someone else as SK. I've never seen him behave so suspiciously in a game, though, and I can't shake the idea that something is wrong.

The other option would be two scum groups. I think the game is pretty small for that, but I suppose it's an option. We have a non-recruiting mason group of two. We could have two scum teams, both with two people, or one with two and one with three. Shaddus' role is a pretty high-powered scum role, and could be used to balance out having a small scum team. Shiri's behavior would be more consistent with being part of a competing scum group.

I dunno. I don't like either option, his alibi is pretty solid, but Shiri's scummy spasticness is going to keep my vote right where it is until something better comes along.

I change my votes all the time. Did it last game when I was a cop, game before that when I was a roleblocker, etc.
Shiri2008-09-03 03:47:45
Sheesh, your scum radars are terrible.

If anyone else votes me, person after that needs to give me time to roleclaim just in case.

Two things regarding Xavius' assumptions: I generally assume SK rather than vig because they're so much more common, but vig is not out of the question - remember that night 1 after a day is different to the usual "night 1 before day" scenario in which it is actually bad for a vig to strike.
Secondly, I find two scum groups unlikely. I've never seen a 2/2 split before, and 2/3 with power roles in a 14-person game seems a bit harsh, especially since town isn't loaded with power roles to start with (judging from Casilu/her mason friend/Furien and leaving my own role out of it for now.)
