You guys need to change off Saran (he's not totally in the clear as he could be an SK with a daykill, I've had that role before) and go for the other suspicious guys.

I don't quite understand why I'm being targeted here - Shiri's still not cleared (as SK or otherwise) to any degree of satisfaction, and just because Xavius turned up scum doesn't mean that his posts don't make sense. I think he's worth an investigation tonight, at the very least.
Still, I'm going to go ahead and Unvote, Vote: Daganev, because he was the first to support Xavius' argument against Shiri. It was the combination of both their arguments and points that convinced me that Shiri had the scummiest play for the time being.

Also, we've had an amazing round of luck so far, but I think the more inactive ones are worth a closer look - at this point, with a game this size, we have at the very most two more scum plus the SK to off, and flying under the radar seems a good strategy for the remaining scum to adopt in order to survive to the very end, picking us off one by one (or two by two, given that we have a probable SK running around).

You're being targetted because you used basically the same scummy line of reasoning as Xavius did, and he was clearly trying to get me out of the way for fear I was a power role - notice how he started to wriggle out of it when I'd made it clear, admitting to having constructed those scenarios as a way of pinning me as scum. That said, he was kind of right that I'd be making a dumb move as an SK by going out of my way to protect Rika like that - and I've already explained the town motivation for it multiple times.
I've also already explained why all my other posts and moves make sense and your denial of that is suspicious. I can only assume this is because you don't want to back out on your logic the way Xavius did. Daganev is also a suspect and if you turn up town he may be my next target, but you're my priority for now.
Shiri2008-09-03 13:23:32
That said, you are quite right that the inactives (Lowe! Get out of your hole) need to wake up, but you and Daganev seem more in need of a good lynching. Neither Xavius nor Shaddus were hiding, so.
Unknown2008-09-03 13:43:19
I don't want to 'back out' of my logic because I don't think any of what I've said is untrue in any way, just that what I pointed out as potentially scummy behavior - back when there was nothing else more concrete to go on - has been counterweighted by actual evidence that's much more convincing. Now that Xavius has turned up scum, I'm more willing to give you the benefit of the doubt because he pretty much led the bandwagon on you, and that's as conclusive an indicator as any that you're probably not scum yourself.

What you have been saying is definitely untrue. Here's what you said:
"Potential role-fishing for the investigator" - as explained, townie activity. Same line as Xavius.
"Aforementioned rapid vote-switching" - as explained, I do this all the time as a townie. Refusing to update your assessment with new situation is not particularly scummy but it sure is unhelpful.
"Being defensive, calling Xavius' scenario retarded, saying he's a better player than this" - yeah, and I was right, wasn't I? He more or less admitted the former and the latter was proven by his being a scum.
"... combination seems to be screaming scum to me, either a rival scum team opposite of Shaddus' (less likely) or an SK" - disregarding the "rival scum team" part, the SK scenario is one of the retarded ones of Xavius' you were trying to defend up there in the above quote.
"": I barely even get this, maybe the fact Daganev is saying it is just confusing me...
Anyway, this all adds up to make you look about as scummy as Xavius to me.

Note that I said 'potential,' which I meant in the sense that it would be unwise, in the interests of the town, to consider that your explanation of it was the only possible one."Potential role-fishing for the investigator" - as explained, townie activity. Same line as Xavius.

You pointing out that you do it all the time as a townie can mean two things - (1) you are townie as claimed, or (2) you want to emphasise this to cover up any possibility that you're something other than townie. Once again, I don't think it's particularly wise to think that we should take anyone's word at face value, unless we have a confirmed town action or a role-reveal.

While you're right, my previous point still stands - I was commenting on your tone and use of language rather than your logic, the former of which I felt was unwarrantedly defensive/offensive in a way that suggests that you are trying to steamroller over accusations with the force of your statement rather than anything else.
Overall, you seem to be working too much from the viewpoint of 'I know I'm innocent and you can't prove that I'm not' in the absence of any concrete evidence, and expecting everyone to believe every single word. You probably aren't mafia scum, but since only mafia (and to some extent masons) know who are what for sure, along with investigators, I think my opinions were valid, given that we haven't seen conclusive, be-all-end-all evidence.
Shiri2008-09-03 14:16:20
That was an awfully long-winded way of saying "I know my suspicions weren't really valid, but I can't prove them to be invalid either so I shouldn't be seen as scummy for going with them."
Look, if you say I'm doing such and such behaviour, and that's scummy, and I can demonstrate that I do the same thing every game I'm town, perhaps that means that with me it's not wise to use it as a scum sign and you need a better reason to suspect me. Since you are instead trying to defend these bad reasons, it looks an awful lot like you really need to stand behind this defence not to look scummy and that tactic is failing.
P.S regarding the viewpoint I am ostensibly coming from: how would you suggest I prove the validity of my claims? All I can do is explain the reasoning behind everything. I don't have my goggles, the plane's buggered, and I don't have any special powers like shooting Xavius. The burden is currently on you to better defend your reasons for accusing me, not on me to somehow prove them false.

If I find myself modding again, daykill for a nearly lynched person is going to be turned off.

Death by clap-your-hands-and-believe?
Unknown2008-09-03 14:23:52
I was explaining my reasons for voting you at the time - you hadn't roleclaimed, you hadn't mentioned the goggles, and you hadn't mentioned that you didn't have any super shooting powers. Taking that into account, let me reiterate. The only thing I suspect you of being at this time is that you're not scum, or at least not Shaddus/Xavius-aligned scum. Xavius turning up scum made the motive behind his reasoning clear, and I was trying (and ostensibly failing) to make it clear that it was in the interests of the town then to pursue every avenue of possibility before Saran lucked out awesomely with his daykill.
To be less long-winded (sorry!), I'm not saying that you're scum, only that I'm not too inclined to believe everything that is being said. Is it that scummy to consider that someone might just not be telling the entire truth?

Ok, so I just caught up. Haha, Christ I love random shot in the dark daykills.
And it looks like we've got both Xavius and Shaddus. I'm going to look back again and see if it looks like someone was acting in concert with Xavius, perhaps trying to get Shiri killed as well.
*peer Silferras* Vote: Silferras
I don't think Shiri's being that scummy, especially now that we see it was the MAFIA LEADER accusing him of scumminess. He could be an SK, so if there's a Vig or Cop (perferrable Cop) you may want to consider investigating him tonight.

And no, I don't think Xavius pushed really hard for that lynch. I think he just said something about the Random Number God wanting a bandwagon on Rika and who was he to argue.

These two posts were made right next to eachother, and I couldn't remember which person said what.
But now that I've looked them up, I think we can safely take Rika out of the "mafia" group. (though my mind is really on finding the SK, since they tend to be harder to find through logic)
