Roles aren't THAT random. Every last time I get paired with someone with a role where I could night-talk, I've always been with Othero. Given, it's been like twice, but still.
It could be either a predetermined randomisation. the order that people sign up in assigns them roles.
1.mafia
2.cop
3.estarra
4.mafia boss
5.so on
or just random rolls.

That has been odd, me and Casilu being put together in two games.

We're meant to be together...
In Mafia games.

Anyone else think they just told us more than they probably wanted to
Shiri2008-09-01 03:26:17
No, I think they were just talking about the fact it happened twice before and then inanely talking about it for want of much better to discuss.

I'm not sure we need to make Rika roleclaim entirely on the basis of a randomly generated bandwagon when she hasn't said a word. Remember that roleclaims are mainly for giving people a second chance before slaying them, we don't -want- roleclaims for no reason (generally). Plus, I've never heard of my role so there's probably no usable theme.
Vote: Daganev for switching over to bandwagon on Rika when his vote was somewhere else, even though she hasn't said anything/done anything.

Please show me where I wrote anything about anybody giving a role claim?
I asked for rika to say -something-, not to give a role claim.
You do know the difference, right?
Rika, still hasn't said anything... I do believe that trying to pressure somebody to speak, is a perfectly valid way to get the game started.
Unknown2008-09-01 03:42:41
Still, they seem to be hinting at something.. At the same time, I doubt mafia would knowingly give off tells like that - unless that was their plan all along!
I'll stick with my vote for the moment, since rika hasn't spoken up yet. At this point, I don't know what we're voting for. A claim? A post?
(I'll be on sporadically during the day while in uni, depending on whether I have my laptop with me. Off to lecture now!)

Hmm. Ok, maybe I did read too much into that. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt I guess (but I doubt Rika will be here for a while.)
Unvote: Daganev.
Vote: Shaddus. Asserting that Rika is sneaky without anything like that to bring up. I'd write it off as just being wrong but it was presented as a kind of defence for bandwagoning her when Silvanus brought up his name, despite the fact we were mainly after Daganev for his vote-switching.

Well, we might wish to just vote around until we notice people lurking and then off one of them, since the Jerries can't speak English very well and wouldn't want to uncover themselves.
If we do get a claim out of someone it should be for their acting suspicious, not someone who just hasn't woken up/come home from school/work yet.
Unknown2008-09-01 03:55:57
Agreed. I guess it's not a bad thing to go after those who haven't posted yet, at least until everyone discusses/posts enough for something more concrete to be roused up.

I have no idea if that "explang the slang" was on purpose or not but it made me laugh.
Anyway yes, Othero is right.
Daganev2008-09-01 04:02:14
ahh, I get it, Ger(mans)ries...
Hmm, are people certain its Germans who are sabotaging us? (I keep reading the first post for any hint at Germans, and I'm not seeing any)

You must conform to the American way, we call them Krauts.
And Rika told me before she was going to be gone most of today, so, voting for her to talk is fairly pointless.
Still, no one strikes me as suspicious, so, I'll still hold back the might Vote of Casilu.
Unknown2008-09-01 04:12:17
I think everyone assumed the theme is WW2 and we all know allies=good and axis=evil
As for Rika we might as well wait.

No, I'm not certain at all, I'm not even sure this is WW2 era. I just get a kind of bigglesy impression from my role. Technically it's ambiguous.
I was mostly just throwing out the Jerries thing as a semi-humourous reason to lynch inactives.
We said Krauts too, btw.
Unknown2008-09-01 04:14:22
speak of the devil, I see Rika. I think that means everyone is involved now.
