I see a lot of Vote: Dirty bastard who called attention to me going on. Maybe we should just find who did the first one of those and lynch him for being suspicious. Probably Shaddus, but hey.
Xavius2008-09-02 03:22:42
Typed suspicious, meant defensive. Bah. Must not edit post.
Xavius2008-09-02 03:23:29
Oh, and in the spirit of full disclosure, the first one who did that was Furien, and...I dunno, unless going with the flow on day one is suspicious, I retract the suggestion.
Furien2008-09-02 03:25:38
Yeah, I was first, but I've got absolutely nothing else to go on (and can easily prove myself innocent should things go too badly).

Looking back on Shaddus' posts, he did call for us to 'hang the nazi bastard' (Rika) and proceeded to support it with 'she just looks sneaky'. When pressure was applied on him, he began to assert he was simply joking and tried to lead us into some logical loop about how he or Rika may be scum, but neither would know, or something else I just feel is purposefully trying to mislead.

Vote: Shiri I do not follow the logic of how Shaddus has been scummy.

I already explained this to you, so I can only assume that you're "not following" it on purpose.

The "hang the nazi bastard" comment couldn't have been much more clearly in jest. No one would use having a wife and kids to get back to as an actual reason in Mafia.

As for Arix and Shaddus, I just don't think they have enough sense of what people are looking for to know that they should avoid it. It puts us in a nasty spot, really. It's like...having so bad of a poker face that you can't tell if someone is bluffing or just grinning and watching things suspiciously.
Arix2008-09-02 03:40:01
I already said I didn't think Shaddus was suspicious, but I did think he was being silly
Unknown2008-09-02 04:11:24
Shaddus is sort of giving me some scum vibes, at least the most so far. And no, not from his silliness. His strange defence for voting rika.

"We could both be scum voting for each other, but I think that's unlikely."

I dunno..

Sorry, was close to midnight (the point where I am exhausted to death). Interesting discussion we've had and I'm going to vote: Shaddus again. Same reason as last time, as he tried to get me lynched before I could even read the thread.
Daganev2008-09-02 04:49:59
At this point I really want to see a scum get killed just so we can know if we are actually fighting germans, or if that is just a suspicion. my role and the opening text is vague enough that I feel we could be fighting in WWII, Vietnam, or even Iraq.

Its that sort of specificity coming from Shaddus that made me suspicious. However, Shiri thinking that he was the first to use the german reference makes me raise an eyebrow as well.

I don't remember Shaddus saying it, is all. I just came up with it on my own because - though as I said already, my role is kind of vague - my first thought is that kind of era. And look, Ryleth keeps posting black and white pictures. That's not gonna be 'nam or Iraq.
Rika2008-09-02 04:53:34
Pretty sure Shaddus was first to mention anything Germany related.
Xavius2008-09-02 04:54:06
I don't think I go with that line of thought. Scum generally have the most knowledge of game mechanics (if you know how many are on your team, you can usually figure out if there's another team, plus they communicate), but it's the town that generally knows the most about the theme. I suppose catching a whiff of the theme and latching onto it would be a scum tell.

...Shaddus is getting an awful lot of these "maybe" tells. Hrm.

And careful voting more. I'm going to go back and do a second, more careful count, but that looks like six.
Shiri2008-09-02 04:56:00
How many votes does Shaddus have?
Xavius2008-09-02 04:57:02
Five, on second count. Shiri, Rika, Dag, Archer, Xavius.

I would vote Shaddus, but he's near lynch, and Othero is the only one who went along with Shaddus crazy line of thought.

I have a hard time gauging Shaddus, since, having played with mafia games before with him he just seems like an easy lynch because he's always scummy.
