I'm not sure introducing "adult" toys would be appropriate although it would amuse me to no end.
I'm not real excited about getting killed by something i have to do a web search on to find out what it is or doing a double take of, wait what the hell did you just play.
Although, having a shield rune attached to a guitar so you can smash it over people's head with shield stun would be pretty rock star.

I didn't even mean that sense of "adult toys". (Didn't even occur to me, though now that you mention it, I don't mind the idea that someone has them... no one's forcing anyone else to, after all.)
And my guess is half the people getting killed by lyres right now don't really know what they look like. Probably the same could be said for morning stars. How many people are familiar with what a rad rune looks like? And that's not even bringing up shofas. I just don't understand the point of the objection; the whole world is full of things that are unfamiliar until you learn about them, if you choose to, which you don't have to.
Anyway, I'd be fine with a guitar. I guessed what Estarra would shoot down and thought, based on the instruments she did pick, that she'd prefer other things that are at least somewhat medieval, so I went with other medieval instruments associated more with "bards" than with "composers" or "rock stars", and picked a few from various cultures worldwide to add diversity that the current selection, all from the same part of the world, doesn't have. So that doesn't turn out to be what Estarra would consider, but I'd bet "guitar" also isn't, for different reasons. I could pick a different target and try it, but I think that's a bad tactic; better to let Estarra say if there's any other range she'd consider, and then work within it, rather than throwing more darts in the dark.

That would be a cool solution and not require a lot of changes. I like it.
That's exactly how I suggested them the first few times.
As I remember there were four styles right off and we got a fifth (lyre sounds right, I had to do Ialie's design twice and the second one was a lyre so that's probably why) in like the second week, and Estarra said at the time that if we wanted others, just to ask for them. But I don't know where She said that -- it's not in an Announce, it might have been in a worldemote or in the forum. Or I might have imagined it.

Fifth added instrument was the violin. Sad that I know this...

I always imagined runes like Diablo 2's runes. Even the sound they made when you pick them up or put them down.... I can still remember it....

Simply make prized go from any pane to any plane (including porting back to a manse BUT NOT across aetherspace), and also make prize return NOT STOPPED by monolith. Imo, that would give it a nice enough niche use fitting for a tradeskill. The crazy long wait + power cost (so you can't spam it) would balance the monolith immunity.
What new instances does the first clause of this idea confer to Prized? I don't understand this whole plane/aetherspace definition, but all I know is that, if my manse is docked at the plex, I can prize return from any plane, including the UV. If my manse is docked on, say, Leo, then I can't prized return...
I don't think the monolith would do much. Aren't most prized items in manses now? Or is this new change going to spur people to put prized furniture somewhere else (ie prime)?

I would be very amused if Estarra allowed Street Organs as an instrument. Make it exclusive to the Cacophony, sign me up and buy me a monkey!

You could buy a pet and make it a monkey.
