REDSCARE UNVOTE
I want to see how this turns when everyone else wakes up before I revote.

Also, Vote: Ryleth for the reasons mentioned. He's been quiet throughout the game, he's the first to pressure for the Red Scare in.

With the current game mechanics, I can't see how redscare is anything other than a kill ability for the U.S / capitalists.
Redscare in my popular memory is most famous for causing actors to be blacklisted and not allowed to get jobs, or for the U.S. to fear that a country was going to become communist and invade it, before they could get a chance.
My reason for voting FOR the redscare, is that today we vote against the communists, and pro Capitalism, and next day we vote for the "Globalism scare", or some such thing, which helps the communists against the capitalists, hopefully causing them to kill eachother off.
However, once we vote for the redscare, we can not unvote. Also, I'm wondering if as a neutral country, I'm supposed to not be taking sides at any point. I'm thinking about voting against the red scare at this point, for that reasons. (also on the off chance that there is no anti capitalist vote later)

IMO, The Cold War was about making other people think you had big weapons, not actually having them.
Daganev2008-09-11 21:50:50
technically, I was the first to vote redscare yes.

So, we've ascertained that the Red Scare deal is bad. Like I voted. But Ryleth seems to like it, and jumped at the chance to vote for the first person to go against the grain, and see reason
Redscare seemed to me, as a 'scare', leading to prevention of countries turning communist. That is my reasoning, using my initiative and my knowledge of the cold war ((yes I know historical details are wrong but the gist isn't))
As for the first person to go against the grain - what grain? A grain set by one person, with only one vote?

Is ryleth commenting on that Furien comment, or something else?

On an oddly strange coincedence, I am having, for supper, a food found usually only in my country, or in resturants carrying that country's food.

Unsure of what to vote for. Wouldn't voting for anything to help either faction (communist or not) be bad for the neutrals? Also just letting everyone know that come saturday I might not be able to post for a few days. Hurricane Ike is most likely going to knock the power out here for a few days.

Well, voting no won't help the communists, it just won't hurt them. (though it will likely help the capitalists) Actually, now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure that the red scare will only help the capitalists, and not help the town. (It only helps the town if we ALSO vote for the anti capitalist/pro communist vote the next day)
Redscare NO
Arix2008-09-11 23:44:44
I just want to avoid the communists as much as possible.

Actually, I should probably avoid the capitalists too, or they'll come me up after Russia leaves
