A world of rectangles and pi-pi-pigeons?

"Sure, alternate realities. You could, uh, could have like a world without shrimp. Or with, you know, nothing but shrimp."

is there any guilds that are heavily based around electric attacks? like actually use it to bash and pvp.

No, there isn't. Warriors can get elemental runes for their weapons, but they're very expensive.

The best advice I can give you is just like others have said...ask questions and get involved. Reading the histories and help files and doing the collegium are excellent ways to get a feel for how Lusternia works and what the whole background behind the different RP styles are. Before you make a character, go to the website and study the different archtypes. See what interest you the most. For example...I love the Nihilists, Ninjakari, and the Ur'Guard. But I've tried all three and for me, the Ur'Guard fighting style is the most interesting. If you want it to be a great experience, get to know people in your city/commune and guild. Find a good mentor, explore, learn where your guild and city/commune come from and go from there. It will take time to get the hang of everything Lusternia has to offer. Especially the combat. It is nothing like Achaea's, Imperian's, or Aetolia's. Here you have wounding, poisons, and afflictions and that is just from the knight combat.

Anyways, yeah. Before someone says it I know I basically said the samething that others have but oh well. nyah.gif

Agreed... I was a pretty powerful bard in Achaea... Here I'm barely passing for a so-so warrior. The combat system here is so much more involved, but the reason I came here was the RP... Achaea seems to have zero, Lusternia seems to be full of it, makes the game a lot more fun.

That's why I came here, I tried Lusternia before because of Pentu, never kept playing, now with Achaea's RP being all based on the Evil people I wanted something new where I actually had a chance to be in a balanced game. This one seemed the best option. confused.gif

Likewise from another Rapture world (Imperian) however the elitism over there has started to wear on me, as well as the lack of anything to do over there anymore that isn't absurdly repetitive. Lusternia certainly seems to have the most interesting idea comparatively, but again it is a little overwhelming.

All of that to say what's an easy archetype and guild to use (not a great scripter/coder so combat is low on the priority list, but I'd like to be able to take on mobs and not die instantly in a fight) and RP as, and are there any good up-to-date maps lying around?

content.gif I am an Imperian refugee - it's gotten too cliched for my taste

Lusternia was the first IRE Game I tried anyway, I was just overwhelmed at first. IMHO, Lusternia has the best background story to back everything it has to offer up.

So it looks like all those other threads were wrong about RP being dead...? rolleyes.gif

My advice to you is to stick it out for a little bit. When I first started I was like a chicken with its head cut off (figuratively, not literally). But taking the time to read histories, read up on the different orgs and guilds, and checking up on your abilities and how to use them really does help.

Basically, be prepared to read a lot.

Of, find someone in your guild who likes history and ask them about it. biggrin.gif
