Don't know anymore. Every episode the show strays further and further away from the books. Jason is doing stuff in the show, that he would never do or say in the books. Its very strange.

And Sookie's brother is a man-whore! (figuratively, not literally, like Tara's cousin! ) He must be spreading herpes left and right! I thought it was freakin hilarious when he did that whole video camera thing. I just wonder when it's gonna bite him in the rear. Prolly when he finds out that Tara saw him doing it.

Also, another book I read a long time ago, title and author lost to memory, had a wholly different take on them. My favorite, in fact. They started as standard fangs+blood+sunallergy+holysymbolsarebad, then it's slowly revealed, mainly by one experimental vampire, that none of that is true. Although it wasn't given a background in that first book, turned out vampires are really strange and powerful creatures capable of controlling their physical matter completely. It was a campaign by the Christians in early times that literally convinced most vampires that exposure to sunlight would kill, holy symbols killed, they needed blood for sustenance, they could transform into wolves or mist....and so that's what they could do. It was power of belief. The experimental vampire found he could stand in sunlight without any harm at all...and taught others to do so(though a few got too scared at one point and FLAMEON! ).
At one point this big, buff vampire guy(Who didn't really believe in all these new revelations yet) got his head chopped off, so he turned into flames, killing all the baddies, and reformed with his head attached. I did like Link in Matrix 3, and woo'd out loud.

Ah yes that was an awesome series. First book is Of Saints and Shadows by Christopher Golden. It had a very unique take on vamps.
