R26/RR15, no scenario queues pop this high. Sadface.

White Lion named Sintor on Skull Throne.

White Lion is an awesome class, isn't it. I was set on playing mine, but for some reason they made a server-rollback last night, and I lost about 4 levels. (Was only 7 to 11, but still. I don't want to do all those quests again so shortly)

So now I rolled a Marauder on another Open PvP Server, and decided to take it slow with leveling and to gather achievements along the way. I found a lair of a level 40 Hero thing close to the Chaos starting zone! It one hit me. sad.gif

PS: No Scenario popping for me either. I WANT MY RENOOOWN.

The trailer is so badass it makes me want to play. sad.gif

The trailer is boohiss, why is Altdorf getting sacked, it should be the inevitable city, or at lease Praag, that's always getting sacked!
Ashteru2008-09-18 13:44:53
Why is there no White Lion in it. :<

For that matter, why does the White Lion stuff look the same till like, level 14 or so. At least the lion grows up.
Unknown2008-09-18 13:51:17
Well, I think there should have been the Swordmaster instead of the Shadow Warrior, though it's good to see that the Marauder got its ass kicked like the WP did in the first one.
Unknown2008-09-18 13:52:54
Sooo. Any news on a trial version for us cheapskates not wanting to buy before we're sure it's worth it? >.>
Unknown2008-09-18 14:18:44
Dont think there is one actually, you can watch the videos or just listen to us brag about how awesome it is. dribble.gif

Hit 27 before bed and there is no renown gain in tier 3 yet. Just not enough people above 21 to queue the scenarios. I sit in every queue pretty much the whole time I'm on. Back to work for me today though. They also nerfed Killing sprees, standard stacking, and some other quick exp gain methods. There are a few level 38sh guys on ST from using that stuff.

White Lion stuff starts changing around the end of t2 and you look rather unique by chapter 10sh. At chapter 14 I'm easily recognized!

Awesome! Good that I started a new White Lion. biggrin.gif I want to get all achievements I can while waiting for my RAM to come. (Right now entering Altdorf kills WAR. *g*)

Regardless of system, it eventually does that to everyone. Skull throne has a login queue of 200+ people sometimes, so if you crash you get to wait for an hour or so. Altdorf is the worst as it caches the whole thing and then doesn't clear it, so you're pretty much guaranteed to crash soon after visiting it. I try to keep my Altdorf visits to a minimum, dumping crafting mats in the guild bank and the like.

I do <3 some of the wild ass chaos creatures I've fought. Also went to Gunbad dungeon, mushroom crazed goblins are sexy. At the bottom, there's a big fella named "Ard 'ta Feed", a level 33 two skull hero two-headed squig.

To entice others here, one of the best things (aside from rewarding PvP with exp and gear) is public quests. Instead of searching for a group, everyone in the area is involved in a common goal if you enter the area. Take for instance the Well of Whispers PQ we just did:

A regular quest given in town says to take three crystals and place them at the Well of Whispers. We go off into the mountains to the Well and notice that there are floating runed chaos rocks, an invulnerable (orange name) floating sorcerer, several Gor Mystics being protected by a channeling aura, and a new indicator of a public quest in the area. The giant Well and all surrounding areas are overrun with gor/ungor shamans, warriors, etc. Various chaos sorcerers are circling the Mystics, pushing the Gor to finish some Hideous ritual. After you slaughter a horde of Gor, the Mystics break off their channeling and you can slay them to take their staves and disrupt the ritual by aligning the staves in a pattern around the Well. After we placed three of the four staves, a herd of Centigor Rampagers charges the well and we fight them off. The last stave is placed and the ritual is disrupted, the floating chaos sorcerer's power wanes and he floats down to attack us. He summons two small horrors.

After he is sufficiently wounded, he surrounds himself in Chaos energy and calls out to Tzeentch for assistance. A lesser demon of Tzeentch rips out through a portal and appears. It's a giant winged demon with a long face, covered in eyes and teeth. It stands about five players high and three wide. We proceed to slay it after a long fight and then the sorcerer is vulnerable again and we slay him. The public quest then gauges the number of people and a large chest opens up and rolls out loot to everyone who participated automatically. Good times!

Oh, and I started to feel bad, heh.

And you took away the praise I just wanted to give! PQs are -awesome-. It adds up how much you contributed, then does a random roll, and if you are in the top six contributors, you are guaranteed loot, and loot approximatly to how much contributed, too. And if you lose out on loot because you rolled too little, if you wait for the next round (which takes like 2 minutes to reset) you get a bonus to your roll. So after two or three times, you are basicaly guaranteed loot.

And PvP is awesome. So awesome. So so so awesome. Every class is defined, like tank, melee dps, healer, etc. But they get differing career trees, with whom they can decide themselves -how- they want to play. Like, for example the Warriorpriest, he has three trees. One, if he builds up on it, strengthens his heals, one his attacks and one his buffs (I think). And the PvP itself...so great. I don't know how to describe it, but playing a Guardian White Lion is just so much fun. You basically look for a way to get behind the line of tanks and then wreak havoc in their healer/distance dps line until you die because your healers heal themselves intstead of you. So awesome.
Daganev2008-09-18 17:43:05
so how do I get the game? :*pout*
Ashteru2008-09-18 18:10:55
Buy it in stores? *g*
Daganev2008-09-18 20:31:33
lame.
Desitrus2008-09-18 20:47:46
Direct2drive has it, if you can stomach that kind of a download.
Ashteru2008-09-18 22:32:17
Hm, anyone else crashing to the desktop randomly? I can go an evening without it, and then I can have three ctds in an hour.
Daganev2008-09-18 22:35:37
Bleh. That still requires I pay $50, just to see if I want to spent $20 /months.

What ever happened to the free trials and demos?
Acrune2008-09-18 22:37:25
Games with demos dont sell as well tongue.gif
Desitrus2008-09-18 22:39:21
Most of these games, if they hit decent popularity, start doing 2 week trials. I'd say in a month or two you will have at least a week free trial, maybe they just let you do tier 1.

Thats only true for traditional games.

Games that can only be played on the internet, and have no content outside of a monthly subscription, get better sales when they give out free trials (assuming the game is any good, I guess)

@D, yeah, looks like I'll just have to wait a while, and by then the game won't be popular anymore, and there won't be anyone to play with, and the demo will be useless. heh, guess acrune is right.
