Thats only true for traditional games.

Games that can only be played on the internet, and have no content outside of a monthly subscription, get better sales when they give out free trials (assuming the game is any good, I guess)
@D, yeah, looks like I'll just have to wait a while, and by then the game won't be popular anymore, and there won't be anyone to play with, and the demo will be useless. heh, guess acrune is right.

Not really, DAOC lasted almost five years and had a free trial within the first. If an MMO is successful, it doesn't die within the year.

I wasn't being serious.

Just a warning though, this game is going to kill your laptop if you aren't all set up perfectly with drivers etc. After I got up to 2 gig ram I noticed a great increase in performance, but I still crashed to the desktop ever so often due to faulty graphic card settings/drivers. So I just played around for 2 hours and am kinda hoping this will work now. *G*

EDIT: HP's support for Laptop graphic cards is....laughable.

EDIT: HP is laughable.

Fixed.

I'm on 8 Peaks (EU) as, I'm a little ashamed to admit, a Shadow Warrior (I'm ashamed at being Order - but my guild wanted to play whatever was least popular). The PvP is amazing and I was never really into PvP on WoW. I've been busy today and yesterday so only 6/5 at the moment but I can see myself losing all of the weekend to it.

There are lots of bugs and animation issues but it's warhammer, so I was always going to love it.

Screw my stupid graphic card.
"HEY, I AM WORKING AWESOME, HAVE A TASTE OF WONDERFUL PVP"

"Hahahaha, Sucker. Now I am stuttering like a newborn child, suck it, bastard."

"Ohohohoh, now I am torturing you even more and decide to not work even though you use the same drivers you had success with. Suck it"

*cry*

This often happens if you game gets minimized for any reason (it happens with lots of games)

It also, commonly happens if you play a large game, and don't reboot your computer before playing it again. (atleast tht used to be common for me)
Ashteru2008-09-19 18:26:14
I forgot to insert the thousands of fixes I tried, including reinstalling, rebooting, everything, heh. At least I have the nice CE box.

*dies a little inside*
Desitrus2008-09-19 20:26:02
Are you playing in max resolution but still windowed mode? It helps with that a bit. Your card also may be suffering drastic heat issues if you're playing on a laptop. I assume the great period was when you first started playing and hours later when it's ready to melt metal to slag it's still having constant performance issues.
Ashteru2008-09-19 20:34:38
Yeah did that. And hm, I usually never have heating issues, built something for my laptop so the ventilators are always in the air and stuff, and it doesn't feel too hot. :/
Desitrus2008-09-19 20:36:07
Warhammer has a VPU issue that can cause VPU memory to lock out and not be released till the process ends. Heat dissipation to the card itself might still be bad, no matter how good your actual laptop is ventilated.
Ashteru2008-09-19 20:37:23
Meh. But I don't get it. First Weekend, it runs great. The last few days it's a bitch most of the times. Today at first it runs great, now it sucks. I can't figure out the failure. I mean, last sunday I ran it 8 hours and had no troubles.
Desitrus2008-09-19 20:40:20
Do you always play on the same surface? Fresh reboot before every play session? Try killing this process if you have it, it messes up my Warhammer camera stuttering to no end:

PDVDSERV.EXE

It was a known issue in alpha/early beta and it still seems to stick.
Ashteru2008-09-19 20:53:59
Yeah, always my desk, always reboot before I play. And nope, don't have that process. I have no clue how it's possible that the same driver installed after a clean deinstall doesn't work the same as before, without me changing anything else. -.-

Have you tried using Omni or some other similar combo driver?

Are you on Vista?
Ashteru2008-09-19 22:36:05
Using XP, and no clue what Omni is. :/
Desitrus2008-09-21 22:17:17
Here you go Ashteru:

Ashteru2008-09-21 22:22:17
Oh man, awesome.

Oh, and I fixed my problems too! Only thing I still got left is that it slows down after playing a while, but support said they'd fix it.

And I have to play a Chosen now, because my mates started playing and they needed a tank. -.-
Unknown2008-09-21 23:56:43
Anyone know of any websites to look at for gaming computers? Been googling some things, but wanted to know if someone had anything specific
Ashteru2008-09-22 00:23:23
What, you mean for WAR or just generally? Generally speaking, just buy much of anything in, that should do. *g*
