Monk tradeskills would be nice... I mean, bards are getting a hack alchemy/enchantment skillset sometime later.. why not us? =/

Anyhow, to answer your other question: You need security privs to enemy / unenemy to the city / commune. Plus, you can pilot colossi. That's it though. No discretionary powers, no guards.

We have ideas floating around for guards/discretionary powers--we just haven't had time to focus on it!
I'm just going to say flat out that I don't see us ever doing a monk trade skill. That's not to say if a great idea is presented that we wouldn't consider it, but I haven't heard of any great ideas for a new tradeskill that makes sense only for monks, and don't really have an overwhelming desire to push forward a monk trade skill (if it existed) over other projects in the pipeline (and we are waaaay backed up).
I'm just going to say flat out that I don't see us ever doing a monk trade skill. That's not to say if a great idea is presented that we wouldn't consider it, but I haven't heard of any great ideas for a new tradeskill that makes sense only for monks, and don't really have an overwhelming desire to push forward a monk trade skill (if it existed) over other projects in the pipeline (and we are waaaay backed up).

Monks should get a plane they can take others to filled with creatures relative to the monk's level.

Edit: Think like, a state of mind place, different monsters for different orgs. If you made it its own skill, have the ability to alter the structure of the place as you get more lessons in, i.e stronger/weaker enemies, bringing more people into the place

I think Monks should have a penance tradeskill.
You can sell indulgences, baptisms, enlightenment, and all sorts of other wonderful monkish things.

That wouldn't really work for stealth monks though, hm.
I do think monks need to be on an equal footing with the other guilds, so let's see what's lacking in the game and then make monks able to do it.

Maybe a tradeskill that converts experience gained from killing into esteem or something for monks? For every 5 kills, 1% esteem, perhaps? Or some other fun calculation.

While that would not work, it is an interesting kind of thinking we should follow. A monk in training(ie bashing his brains out) resulting in less of a physical gain(experience) than a metaphysical(esteem) or spiritual gain(straight karma?).
Like I said, it wouldn't work, but that avenue of thought might find something viable and really exciting. I know you all have a bunch of stuff to but, hey, get to work! (where's my dominatrix smiley? )
