Not really, unless you mean presence.

Mabon, at least, is a holiday when people get together, eat together, tell stories together, and celebrate the harvest. It's a lot like the American Thanksgiving. smile.gif

Ostara can be likened to Easter. Actually, Easter got its bunnies and baby chicks from Ostara.

Being in NYC, I'll be celebrating Mabon. Because I didn't feel up to cooking today, I'll be bringing to work + school orange, yellow, red, and brown candies tomorrow to share around. happy.gif

Noola, come to NYC so I can give you some candies! ohyeah.gif

P.S.: Next gift-giving holiday is Yule, December 21st.

Sadly, because I do love the candy, I am too poor to go to NYC.

It's okay. Everyone knows the best time to chill with people who celebrate the Wheel of the Year is during Beltaine. wink.gif

For those who know nothing about Beltaine, here's some stuff to link you in:

QUOTE
It's May! It's May!
The lusty month of May!...
Those dreary vows that ev'ryone takes,
Ev'ryone breaks.
Ev'ryone makes divine mistakes!
The lusty month of May!
QUOTE
The Puritans, in fact, reacted with pious horror to most of the May Day rites, even making Maypoles illegal in 1644. They especially attempted to suppress the 'greenwood marriages' of young men and women who spent the entire night in the forest, staying out to greet the May sunrise, and bringing back boughs of flowers and garlands to decorate the village the next morning.

One angry Puritan wrote that men 'doe use commonly to runne into woodes in the night time, amongst maidens, to set bowes, in so muche, as I have hearde of tenne maidens whiche went to set May, and nine of them came home with childe.' And another Puritan complained that, of the girls who go into the woods, 'not the least one of them comes home again a virgin.'

ohyeah.gif My mom used to give everyone kisses on Beltaine. wub.gif

Everyone, happy friday, every friday. It may not be now, but holiday wishes should never go unsaid. Since there are so many of them in the year, just read this every friday.

Remember to eat lots of noodles on that most holy day

((P.S. look to my siggy to understand my oddities.
