If anything we should be looking at the people who bandwagoned and ninjalynched Xavius. Shaddus getting killed was STUPID - He should have had protection (nice job there, doc!). Hopefully he used his skill before he died? Xavius - Sure he was an SK and thats great but god that was really lucky. The ninja lynch was also unacceptable. You guys have to start learning thats not how you play a game, its just not fair to everyone involved. All players should be given a fair shake - what if Xavius was a cop or doc? What then?

Currently re-reading the thread.

Shiri2008-09-26 05:50:24
Shaddus didn't use his ability. We'd know if he had.
Unknown2008-09-26 05:52:08
@Daganev

Actually if I gather the information correctly - no thats wrong. Your win conditions were:

>1
Kill Zangoose to win
Kill Seviper to win

>2
If Seviper is lynched or nightkilled before that happens, you become a member of the town.
If Zangoose is lynched or nightkilled before that happens, you become a member of the town.

Assuming the kills happened at the same game speed, and you killed eachother at the same time, neither of you were alive to win, you canceled each other out so you both actually turned town and will now win or lose with the town. And you've had your "bah" post. Dont keep posting if you're really dead please.

Little pissed I didnt get mafia this game. I was hoping, crossing my fingers, waiting, WISHING I could get to be scum. I never get to be scum! Its so disheartening. skghaskghakgekahgiaegfa Anyway, I thought about doing a Pokemon mafia awhile ago. Has alot of potential.

I think I'm going to go ahead and call Bali on this line. There's something to that old line about "The lady doth protest too much." What reason is there to start mouthing off about not being scum this game? Isn't that something you do in private, or afterwards? It seems to me like it's a ploy to be so transparent that no one will think an experienced player would be that obvious. He even points out his own experience, just in case none of us who follow the forum mafia know about it. Bali seems very much ready to correct everyone else for matters of etiquette (You're dead, don't post! and the like) that this stands out to me. So what gives, Bali?
Arix2008-09-26 06:31:02
It's like I said. I think Bali is one of the selfdestructing pokemon, and this is his attempt to get votes
Shiri2008-09-26 06:31:39
It's not unusual for Bali to be aggro about the rulebreaking and ninja-lynching - he does it even when he's a mod and completely non-partisan.

You're quite right about the poor quality of that "too bad I'm not scum" line though.

Of course, he could be scum and trying to make us think he's a jester.
Arix2008-09-26 06:35:10
He could also possibly be trying to get an investigator to check him, which could possibly mean he shows up as innocent, and would waste an investigation that could be usefeul elsewhere.

VOTE: BALI
Shiri2008-09-26 06:35:26
A valid guess. I hate jesters, but it seems worth it to try and lynch people acting like one more often than it isn't. They'll just censor.gif around with your votes and stuff else. As long as it's not a retarded Xavius-style jester where you lose if they win.

I don't think Balizar would claim bomb or anything if pressured though. Let's see what happens.

Vote: Balizar.

Granted I don't know too much about how these games are usually set up, but does it seem logical to have Daganev AND Myrkr who both win if one single death happens, as well as a third person who wins under similar parameters?

I should probably throw my vote in, but I'll wait to see what Bali says.
Unknown2008-09-26 06:48:36
Lol, I guess I shouldn't have said it - I should have known it would inspire feelings of suspicion, something we dont need. Its just that its so frustrating being (Edit: Language, please.) town EVERY SINGLE GAME. Remember the last game I played with you guys? The whole dream castle bit? That was the result of me being bored to tears with town. As a town player, I'm reckless, I can afford to be - because I am generally very good at calling out scum and I know how to pontificate with the best of them. As for the etiquette things, like speaking at night, and spectating, dead posting, those things -should- be pounded home. There is just no reason for five people to have a discussion in the thread at night. There no night-talking for a reason.

Simon, who are you? I believe we have a right to know who and what we're dealing with. Its like you're talking like you know me, but you're hiding behind a mask. That isn't fair. You were the first one to call Xavius out, so you get props for that.

Anyway, I'm gonna throw my vote out to..

Doman - I dont like him. He has been posting very lightly, trying to avoid putting up any real content. He was doggedly voting and attacking Casilu after she was pretty much confirmed to be Wailord. Scummy(strike1). Also wagoned Shaddus with the poor excuse to "get things moving"(strike2). Also, he jumped on the "lol lets ninjalynch Xavius before he has a chance to respond" wagon - very oppurtunistic and scummy(strike3).

Vote: Doman

Oi, you guys. Six posts and two votes when I'm writing - nice :/

SPLASH

Casilu2008-09-26 06:54:52
Ack, how did that big space happen?
Esano2008-09-26 06:55:37
You were trying to disguise your splash, that's how. Don't do it!

Am not trying to disguise it...
Doman2008-09-26 07:20:37
I haven't been posting much because I got a new book recently. (Brisingr, very good)

...Also, I didn't jump on the Xavius lynching. I wasn't even AROUND for that. I voted Casilu for the same reason Shiri is suspicious of her, and I changed the shaddus vote early. You're throwing up smokescreens, Bali

This is my first ever game of mafia. I don't think I've managed to make a nuisance of myself, and I'm having a bit of fun, so can we agree to just play?

I agree with this, but I find it even more alarming that Casilu won't stop splashing! Several people have called it suspicious, and told her to stop unless she's going to explain exactly why she's doing it. If it's a confirming effect, then fine, it was confirmed yesterday, and THEN commented on. Since she keeps claiming it doesn't do anything, why does she do it? Either it does something she won't tell us (and that seems scummy in itself) or she's required to splash a certain number of times, and not allowed to tell us so. I'm not sure how plausible this is (see above, my first game), so maybe someone with more experience could comment? I would think she'd be allowed to fake some reason, though, so I don't know.
