Hm, well the thing is Celina, Palin was a great initial choice, that is when she was just announced. People were talking about, people were excited and she was also a trap for the Obama Camp and Democrats in general, to make them seem sexist. Her speech was good (I think better than McCain's) but certainly not comparable to Obama's, his oratory skills are excellent (keep in mind her speech was written before she was even picked).
But you're making a mistake in assuming she can only have positive effect when being talked about. The McCain Camp has showed a deathly fear of leaving her at the mercy of journalists. It's pretty clear they don't think she's ready, and she's sort of shown she's not ready when they do try to let her out of the bag. Look at the Katie Couric interview particularly this part. People were simply astounded by the blatant fillibustering. Her favouribility ratings have dropped pretty dramatically, I believe in some polls she's rated the lowest of the four candidates now.
McCain's lost some numbers because of her now. I don't think she was a terrible choice, but she's certainly having an adverse effect at the moment. In a race where both Presidential nominees have 100% recognition in the country, getting talked about isn't necessary, or even really that good if something negative is implied.
How much do you want to bet McCain's Camp will try desperately to withdraw from the VP debate next week?

Of course she has attracted negative attention. Has there ever been a nominee for either office that has not attracted negative attention? I think it's fair to say Palin with make or break the Republicans in this election. While I disagree with a lot of Palin's stances (I'm not pro-life for instance), she is a breathe of fresh air. She hasn't spent decades with politicians. It's painfully obvious that Obama has. The question for me is if I would prefer Obama who is educated and well spoken, but repetivie, empty, and says what pleases His supporters. He's the "American Dream" and I've really stopped caring. Palin may be brash and outspoken, but she takes stances. I think the Republicans this year will be frank with the Americans, and I think the Democrats will be exactly what we have now.
That being said: I haven't seen every debate and don't follow it every day. I'm informed, but I'm not expert. In my tiny part of the world, Palin has been very well received. I think it'd be a huge mistake to count her out at this point.
final note...Palin's speach >>>> Obama's speach. I didn't enjoy His speach at all. McCain's was pretty bad.

Why am I not surprised Celina is a Palin supporter.

Why do you keep capitalizing Obama's name?
Unless I missed something, he's not a God.

More to the point, why are we, the open-minded and intelligent minority within the working class(mostly), so quick to continue slandering others however obliquely over something like this?.

There are two major problems with the American voting system:
Two party
First-past-the-post
Why don't you switch to preferential (e.g single transferable vote, instant runoff voting) voting already? Much better representation of peoples actual beliefs, as they don't need to worry about their vote being wasted if they vote for a less popular candidate. And no chance of the majority of the population voting against for the person who wins, too.

As soon as I made that post, I knew someone was going to post a picture of Obama shooting lightning or doing something else godly?

Edit: Ah, I see what you mean.
'His' or 'He' is a pronoun, not his name though.

Think she did that on her other post too. I didn't want to go back a page. I made a bad choice in words.
