Lichseed is also the Trans Necromancy skill, allowing the same thing. The construct just allows it for anyone who isn't trans Necromancy (IE: Monks, Mages, Bards) and gives an improved version for those that already have it.

Yeah, anyone can get the lichseed without the Crypt, but there's a bunch of benefits for all liches if the construct is up.

Beasts mature a year and a month after they're born. So, for example, if your beast was born on the 3rd of Roarkian, it won't mature until the beginning of Estar.

When I look at the bardic's on the website, sometimes I'll get random symbols instead of punctuation. Like, in Meir's entry for Feb 09 it's really bad. I've tried changing the encoding on my browser (IE 8) but it just turns the symbols into different symbols. Halp?

Use notepad, copy and paste from there.
