I think a little bit, but they take longer to influence than monks. It's been a while since I've been influencing. You should bug Jozan until he gives you an answer. He should know, he spent most of his youth on Celestia influencing and what not.

Fairly certain you'll also lose all your guards, probably all your constructs (does prepowerment protect from this? We didn't have constructs when we were at negative power), anything else that draws power passively.

Heart and spirit are not elements.
Earth, water, air and fire are clearly elements because there are elemental planes composed entirely of them.
The Shofangi theory is that metal is like a refined, untainted version of earth magic, and that wood is related to the Ethereal plane in some way, but that's all inferred and there's no canon on it.

Four are embodied with their own elemental planes. I think there's a book in the IG libraries with the theory that there are possibly as many elemental planes as there are elements (including ones not currently known). If you take it at a stretch, it might even be possible that there are para-elemental planes.
The elements that the Harmony mantras refer to (spirit and heart) don't seem to be elemental "elements", but more like elements of the person/being.
EDIT: And going off what Shiri said, there's an inference that Wood is some subset or essence related to the Ethereal plane and that Metal is related in a similar way to Earth.

They take no beast trains if they're inherent. You still get 600 trains to allocate (assuming no pet/arti bonuses).
Not aware of a resource, but there are plenty of people to ask in-game. Basically you feed a reagent once every couple days and fill the feedbag with the appropriate feed and it gains a beast train based on the feed.
