I think it was something along the lines of "Purr sign I like this one." referring to someone who was harping on Tyrni's ego.
In an unrelated skein, does anyone know who pilgrims follow if you IMPERSONATE someone, then do the whole "SAY I'll take you to a stage under the library of Avechna's Peak" thing.

You can just say "I'll take you to Avechna's Peak". They respond to the whole "Avechna's Peak" part. same with bards respond to the stage and scholars to library.

What is the clue to climbing up Hajamin's temple?
The clicking of the tiles.
Kiradawea2009-06-04 14:31:23
I figured it was something like that, but there's only one click and that helps me only on the first step. What about the second?

Well, can't call it a clue anymore so if someone thinks this is out of line, feel free to remove my reply...
To be honest. I've been always using my pyramid to get in. Same method can be used with hermit tarot or with a person helping you. Wait for the click, move that way, set up pyramid point/hermit/loose the other person and move in a random dir. After you fall down, pyramid/hermit/teleport to that room and the next tile will click. I suppose you can do it on your own as well, by memorizing steps you've already taken, just have to start from the bottom each time.
And once you get to the top, be prepared
Kiradawea2009-06-04 19:00:50
Ah, not a clue but a trick. Thanks. I'll try.

Loboshigaru, Aslari, Elfen (faelings share this one), Dracnari, Dwarven, Lucidian, Igasho, Furrikini, Merian, Orclach, Taurian, Tae'Dae, Mugwumpi, Krokanian.
The only other languages are Divine script, Crowtongue, I believe the Hartstone have a language, and both Stealth groups have a sign language each that is not shared.
No one can learn to speak Divine, and only bookbinders and Divine can read/translate it.
Stealth sign language needs an emote to preceed it, so you can tell if a full conversation is happening in it. Also, if you happen to be somewhere with a sign, it tends to give away when they sign. Also cannot be done with SIGH, GRUNT, PURR, or the like, and also can't be done while targeting someone.

Hartstone doesn't have a language.

Why?
Hartstone can wear a torc that allows them to speak and hear the deer, can the Glommies say the same?
(Though I do think those who are in Stagform should be able to do so without the torc!)
Razenth2009-06-04 21:09:16
There's a quest to get the torc that lets you talk to deer. I've done it a few times and even tried to rescue the little dudes from Glom before this went down.

Probing items shows the cartel of the design's origination if it was from a private cartel.

@above: cool.
Anyways, I have questions about stun timers. Do they run down when you're off eq or bal? For example, I know for a fact that kneel causes 1 sec. stun. Let's say I stun someone who just whacked me with a big stick. Do they stay stuned for the time it takes them to regain bal + 1 second? Or will they just be stunned for 1 sec flat? I ask this because I wonder what utility shieldriposte would have at all. Is that stun time long enough that the foe stays stunned even after they regain bal from whacking you and getting parried?

There's also the stun immunity that the victim gets. It is my bane. For example, if you shieldriposte, they are stunned and gain immunity, so if you try to re-stun as soon as they are out of stun with active shieldsmash, it won't work. *grumble*

Do magic enhancement runes amplify damage cause by demesne effects as well? (e.g. hailstorm, tsunami, ect.)
Ryll2009-06-05 10:59:06
So. All of a sudden, none of the scholars, pilgrims, or bards will follow me (as in, they flat out refuse to follow me, not I can't get them to follow me. If that makes sense). Did I get enemied to the wrong place or something?
Unknown2009-06-05 11:01:01
That happens when someone raises Globglob in the Tainted Broadcasting Centre, one of the singlemost annoying quests in the entire game. They'll only follow people from that organization that raised him, and you'll hear propaganda spewing from your nexus.

Hailstorm is not a demesne effect. It is an active spell that hits your entire enemy list. To answer your question, however, yes! any ability that is magic source will be influenced by the damage runes. This includes most (not all) demesne abilities that do damage. Off the top of my head, the only exception I can think of is Druidry's Storm, which I believe is a flat damage value that isn't modified.
A general rule of thumb is that if intelligence boosts the damage of the skill in question, the rune will also do so. I can think of no ability that is boosted by intelligence that is not likewise boosted by the rune so this may indeed be a golden rule of thumb more so than a general one.

Does anyone have any jewelry designs that contain essence (light, dark, shadow, etc.)? If so, will you please post a description here? I've tried a few times to do something with essence, but it keeps getting rejected, so I'm not sure what the comm is useful for. Thanks!
Let me see your design again and I can try to help you fix it up.
