Simple Questions 1

Ack. Forgot my own questions.

1. Is it possible to tie pet reactions to crits and/or kills when hunting? Specifically, can my Pet do an emote each time I kill something through a crit of a certain rank or higher?

2. Is it possible to make pet reactions tell you everything they hear and/or see? (Assume sentience)

3. Even better, is there some way to possess a pet? (Assume sentience)

4. When writing concerts for Lusternia, would it be possible to include a song from the real world? For example, I have a concert with five self-made songs. Can I also include a classic like "you raise me up" and make my own version of it without breaking and rules or laws? (Legally, I'm pretty sure that falls under fair use.)

I used a few quotes from a real-world song in one of my plays as incidental music to take the place of an "old, well known folk song," but I wouldn't use a whole song, and I certainly wouldn't use one in a performance of my own works.

Edit: Also, I modified those few lines I did quote.

1. No.

2. Possible but I doubt they'll do it since those are Hunting abilities. If they did do it, I'd expect it to be expensive.

3. Only insofar as ordering them to speak/emote, at the moment.

You can also have them deliver stuff, if I remember right (Giallyn does), although that's an extra thing.

Is there anything in Healing that can bring people back from the dead?

If you buy a pet for 500 credits, do you have to buy your upgrades then, or can you "add on" later on down the road?
Shiri2009-06-14 01:50:01
1. no

2. You can add them later.

When did we switch the exits from Elostian Blue to Eventru yellow?

Maybe you did a CONFIG COLOR?

I think they started putting it like that for novices, easier to see. Just change it?
Unknown2009-06-14 06:15:50
I don't like their change, it makes me think, "OH GOD DUSTSTORM, GET OUT." sad.gif

None of these currently exist, but based on my dealing with custom things (meaning, I bug them about twice a month), I'm going to guess maybe, no, and no. But hey, I've been surprised. Email artifacts@lusternia.com, let me know what you hear.

1. No.

2. No. Reactions are meant to be add personality to pets, not provide any more functionality (like turning them into spies).

3. Sentience allows you to control how pets talk, emote and move.

4. What concerts? I doubt there's any issue if you use a RL song as a bard song, though I imagine you'd get (perhaps legitimate) blowback of being OOC. If you are talking about publishing for a bardics entry, then that wouldn't be acceptable.

I think she means on a stage, for like a play.

You can put out forest fires, Smokey.
Unknown2009-06-15 05:56:15
Lusternia actually has fires outside Magnagora? I've never seen a forest on fire outside of that one event where the kephera burnt down Glomdoring and killed crow.

Meteors cause forest fires.

Sarrasri used to love them greatly.

TwoThree questions here...

1. What's the % increase in hit rate for sharpness oil?
2. How many Axelords does it take to chop a forest down?
3. Why did the Furrikin cross the Ackleberry Highway?

Ta.

1) Dunno. I've heard 4 or 5%.
2) One, if they're badass enough.
3) To run away from Thoros.

There's a fair amount of legitimate player upset when the vast majority of a play or library submission which is or is capable of bringing in power to the org is ripped from something OOC without much work from the player, and where that happens we will intervene. If it's more in the nature of being a reference, then assuming that it doesn't hurt people's immersion, it's probably fine.
