Does Chockmah reveal the identity of a ghost? How much con reduction is Binah (3?) How much str+ is Geburah (1?) I know Tiph burns through ropes and webs, but the AB also says spiritual bindings. What are these, and +, how much rebalance is tiph? Does Clinging stop hexagram and geyser, and how many afflictions do Hod and Gedulah cure respectively? (2? 3?)

Can someone give me the exact messages for watching someone leave to and enter from the ether (like from a cubic, etc)? I need it, but I'm at work. Thanks!
Varies with the method used. I know that if you're in the PORTALS room and someone else PORTALS in, you get "newbiea appears in a flash of light. Sometimes it's good to be a newbie!" or something close.
Were you looking for a specific one, or..?

I'm with Daganev- I know that it also makes a really effective way to create character histories (After hiking in the lands east of Avechna's Teeth, having tired as a farmhand, Eventru found himself at the portal of fate, etc...)
Everything outside the Basin is dead, radiocative, poisonous and filled with slavering taint-monsters though. That's why everyone lives in the Basin and why it's not an option to say "Screw this, we're moving our city somewhere else."

Just curious... was Tosha Monestary constructed PRE- or POST- unfolding of the Undervault? Hypothetically, could this sect of Lobo Monks have the opportunity to know psychometabolism?
Klaermon2009-06-24 12:20:04
Pre, significantly, I'm pretty sure.
Shiri2009-06-24 13:06:46
The tosha monastery has been around since long before the undervault was rediscovered and Estarra stated during monk dev that there was no connection.
Psionics are learnt by psionic races (kephera/illithoid), their students (monks), or people infected with a certain kind of parasite (mages). There is no obvious reason why the Tosha monks couldn't LEARN psionics, but there's no indication that they already have and it seems unlikely.

So, then in theory the Tosha's are all acrobatic monks with no stealth / psymet / harmony. Heh. Also, they don't align with any Orgs or particular monk guilds.
In another question, is there a color associated with the Crystal Spire of Lancenti? This is a design question...
Kiradawea2009-06-24 15:43:35
Acrobatics? No. I think they have some sort of strange mix of Harmony and Psychometabolism to explain their tie to the Spirit Plane.

Which is why it would be an awesome high-level bashing ground.

Where do you get this idea from? (just curious)
Warriors learned tracking from people who came from outside the basin. (And I believe a tiger or something)
Warriors learned weapon specializations from people who came from outside the basin.

I thought the tosha monks were a different breed of monk than what the cities/communes have.
Sort of like how a Catholic monk, is a different breed from a Shoaling monk.

Uh oh, Daganev brought up religion which is specifically off limits under the new forum rules. I demand that he get perma banned from the forums and then water boarded for good measure.

Ecology came from the same people, as did Artisan! I think Brewmaster and Tinkering did too but I don't recall too much about it. So someone else clear that up.
There are small communities, a forest commune for sure as we've had their Druids and dealt with their fae. Maybe even cities. The land wouldn't be perfect, but nor is the Basin, but I imagine they'd have had their own Ellindels (or maybe something entirely different) for healing the land around them, as we know from the histories that the Basin land was starting to get sick from the contamination of the Soulless (Man, they`re just like nuclear fallout

I thought it was immunized against, using the archways on Elemental, that had the side effect of making brains bigger.

I don't think Catholics were masters of martial arts. I've heard that the Tosha monks pull some funky moves when they're attacked.

On the other hand, I don't think being Catholic and knowing martial arts are mutually exclusive.
It could just be coincidence that they all know karate!

WHEN/IF (though probably never) Gaudigauch/Hallifax/Ackleberry were ever restored, who would teach them monk skills? Would Tosha side with Ackleberry while Grandmother Scorpion might sympathize with the Lucidians and Dracnari? just speculating now...
Are there any other speculation threads on the topic of Gaudigauch/Hallifax/Ackleberry monks?
PS-- anyone know what the Crystal Spire looked like?

No more monks please. I'd be quite happy with the basic three.
