Syntax: PARRY <numeric weight>
What is the highest number that can be put in, and what does it actually mean?

Parry works with ratios.
If you put parry gut 100, then put parry chest 100, you're gonna have two 50s, if you add parry head 50, you'll have like, 40 40 20

It never had the "resolved" status beside it that I saw, and I have already bugged it again, and that bug is still "classified" only.
I really do not know the specifics, but I think the problem might be that bugs go off the list when they are active for X days and resolved, so if your bug is on X+5 days, then gets resolved, it disappears instantly from your list as both criterion are met. Who knows? But I am tired of bugging that stupid quest, because it is clearly bugged. It is very frustrating to tell someone exactly what you have done and exactly what responses you have had from the game and then receive no explanation. I am highly disappointed and I am about to get over it. I dislike having to do all of my own legwork before submitting a bug report. It is frustrating when you cannot even get a response.
Noola2008-10-21 16:33:26
Hey, about bugs... I submitted a bug recently and now it's Classified. Does that mean they're working on it, or something?
Kiradawea2008-10-21 16:45:54
I know. The entire Xion area just screams "halfway done". I'd be very thankful if someone could take a more thorough look at the bubble, because I think it is one of the best areas in the entire game, so it is a shame to see it so riddled with random bugs and a plainly frustrating quest. Of course, first of all I hope that they can fix the water elemental bug. There really should be more than 9 of em around.
By "Classified" I think they mean "Okay we've seen it and found it to be a bug. We will fix it when the opportunity arise".

Correct, Kira. Classified just means it's been read and categorized. It may be fixed in the next five minutes, or it may be resolved much later. Some are just difficult (or impossible, heh) to track down.

She has restored the ancient workshop of Xion to functionality.
After I completed the quest, all of the elementals went away. I have done it again since, and I get to a part where the game is telling me that I have released water elementals, but none actually show up. I bugged that and was never able to see the resolution. I can appreciate a convoluted quest, but this thing is seriously messed up if it is functioning as intended.
But I believe we are taking the thread away from its intended purpose!

It just means an arbitrary value for that area. The highest number is as big as the data structure they use to hold numbers will allow (aka freaking big). The way it works is that it calculates the %attention based on all the numeric weights, so if I did:
Parry head 900
Parry gut 100
The attentions would be head: 9/10, gut: 1/10
In short, attention for a given area is (weight for the given area)/(sum of all weights across all areas)
It also makes for a really easy to code parry "system": add a point or two to a given area if it gets hit, maybe with a random factor. That way, you'll statistically parry more often to where they statistically hit more often. It makes sense to me, at least. You can also then set initial weights, and easily reset :>

After some of the stuff I've been through, I'm going to start going out of my way to destroy the corpses of people. Malarious, among a few others, will generall give corpses back, so if he asked, I would most likely oblige, but otherwise, I'm offering.
I know Celest enemies stopped with the whole 'giving-corpses-back' thing. They raid water and take the corpses of the newbies and make 'em pray.
I think it should follow this consensus: if you're the one on enemy territory and you die from raiding, it's free game for the corpses to be offered/destroyed. If you die defending your own territory, corpses should be returned (always). If you jump someone and kill them, you should drop off their corpse at the aetherplex and tell someone to come get it before someone else snatches it up. If they are in enemy territory bashing and you jump them, free game to offer, but at least consider returning corpses (I'm sorry Denetrous ), of those not enemied/who never actually done wrongly to you/your org.
Common decency and no one's going to think you're a softie if you follow by it . It'll make the game more enjoyable for all.
That said, Malarious stopped returning corpses during his raiding after he became a jackass (ie when he went bard).

Oh no, what a horrible label. What will people think of you if you don't make people you beat as miserable as you possibly can? Woe.

Last time (and also the first time) I raided against Celest with Magnagora one of your "kind" citizens immolated me in the pool of stars. While the resulting death spam was kinda funny and the reactions of people to a Mag hanging out in the pool was priceless, the extra exp loss i could have done without. Since I was not an enemy of Celest before the raid I'm assuming it was a careless mistake but still it was far from charitable.
Edit: I never thought the person who did had any ill intent, I was just trying to point out that overzelous immolating can also be bad.
Kiradawea2008-10-21 20:13:49
That really sounds like an honest mistake. In the rush of battle, it ain't always easy to know "are you with us or against us".
Aison2008-10-21 22:21:06
Yeah, I remember when I first started fighting there was a raid and Arix got killed. I highlight names but Arix was not highlighted. When I did IMMOLATE CORPSE I did it at the Pool on prime and he ended up dying to guards - the corpses I had before had congluted (I didn't know conglut worked faster than me running to immolate), and I acquisitio-scooped his up again and did IMMOLATE CORPSE once more without recognizing it. Can't remember what happened after that but I felt really awful for doing that.
I would never intentionally do something like that, and take a lot more care nowadays, and I'm pretty sure there are only a handful of people in this game who would be as malicious as that.

I didn't think that you could immolate enemies. When we went crazy on the test serve a good while back, I couldn't. Maybe the nexuses are not created equal. Hmm!

You can't. They weren't enemied yet.

The way bard damage was being calculated it was effectively doubling the buff someone would normally have from stats, with compounding. This has been fixed. If your intelligence and charisma are above 12, it will likely decrease. The decrease is proportional-ish to your variation from the center, so if you don't have Demigod stats or high int and cha, you shouldn't notice too much of it. High int and charisma bards will notice it, however.
