What's the best money-making Trade?
(And is it worth it to spend lessons on it early on (before Transing any guild skill), figuring that it'll eventually bring in gold for more credits?)

Alchemy and Enchanting bring the most money per time invested, while Herbs brings the most money total, but takes a lot of time. (More than you might think; harvesting is only part of it.)

Harvesting takes about as much time as forging, just for a much better return. Despite smiths saying otherwise, I've tried them both out now.

If you want good money from herbs, you really do need to put as much time into it-- and you can't AFK it, either. (Well, I've caught a few people AFKing it, but they learn not to do that once they get enemied for stripharvesting Glomdoring...)

ohmy.gif Who says forging makes a better return than harvesting?

No, they say it takes more time.

(I realize that wasn't very clear, but it was the time and not the money part I was addressing. It's pretty clear that herbs is better cash-wise, by pretty much everyone)

Considering time investment, ability to script / afk it.. I'd say cooking. But only if you are trans and own a shop.

Herbs can generate a lot of money, sure, but you have to put insane amounts of time into it if you want to really do it. One thing you can do with herbs is focus on things like sparkleberry / earwort. Those have high prices and sell frequently enough (and selling only those won't eat up your online time).*

Alchemy is decent with a shop too. Not as much money, but only a small time investment too.

* I did the math at some point and I concluded that I could make more money with the time I spent harvesting if I bashed instead. But I was and am bored of bashing so I decided to keep on harvesting anyway..

Looking at the new dolls, it seems Luna and Glumki got new messages to interact with the others, do Elohora and Nifilhema have them as well, I've tested a bit, but it doesn't seem like they do. Anyone else gotten them?

This is blanketly false. Cooking is the tradeskill you take when you want to be able to create social gatherings on a whim. Alchemy was about 40x more profitable.

Thoros is:
Thoros currently has ???? out of ???? health.
suffering from the blues.

What affliction is that? I know CURE THOROS DEPRESSION gets rid of it, but I never saw that one before, and I don't know what it does. huh.gif

Might be UndeadBlues, not sure though, Necroscream ability.
Esano2008-11-16 06:02:27
UndeadBlues is a buff, not an affliction.
Unknown2008-11-16 06:07:13
Insomnia is a buff not an affliction, yet it shows on Diagnose, since it makes you work as undead for intents and purposes, it could be classified as an affliction since there are some abilities which work stronger against undead.

According to Shuyin, blues was an affliction that was never coded and fully implemented. dunno.gif

I wonder what the random affliction line would be...

Feeling life is hard, you pretend to play a harmonica with great passion.

When POINTing an enchanted item at someone, if the casting fails because you need to declare, is it supposed to expend a charge?

Just tested undead blues simply makes you undead. It does not show up on def or diag.
Being undead by the more usual route does show up as a buff.
