Thanks to those who answered the beastmastery question.

I ask because there doesn't seem to be a complete list anywhere in the help files, the lore Wiki, or the forums. All I have to go by are the shops, and it's a jarringly OOC question to ask someone in-game (might as well ask here instead).
It seems kind of IC to ask an artisan what they can make to me. Admittedly, it brushes against the OOC question of why we can't make other kinds of Music-compatible, period-appropriate instruments.
Where might you expect to see it on the Lore wiki? I'll add some green-box notes about it... maybe in Artisan Instruments and in Music.

Lute, Lyre, Violin, Viola, and Mandolin
Ah right, mandolin! Thank you kindly.

Well, that's a good point; it could be phrased to seem suitably IC. But yes, it's the sort of thing that directly references a mechanical limitation, too.
I didn't actually expect to see it on the Lore wiki per se (as in, I don't think its absence is problem), and I'm not familiar enough with the wiki yet to know where you should put it if you were to do so. But I don't think it would hurt to add it.
To be honest though, it's a very, very new-player question. Within the first week or so, it should become fairly obvious that players have five to choose from.
Lendren2010-03-27 16:15:51
That's a good kind of question for the wiki to answer, though. I've added it in those two places; I just wondered where it occurred to you to look, so I could be sure it'd be there too (since other new players might think to look the same place).

Along the same lines, I've noticed that neither the help files nor the wiki contain a consolidated list/reference of every unique guild (AKA class) in the game, including related guild skills and secondary skills. (Unless I missed something.) Yes, the main Lusternia site does have a such a list of guilds and related skills — however, there are no hyperlinks or keywords in the descriptions that allow new players to easily reference detailed information about each skill set.
In other words, the two databases (help files and wiki) with keyword/hyperlink systems have no consolidated list. The database that does have a consolidated list (i.e., the main site) has no such flexibility.
The wiki already has a table laid out for this:
http://www.lusternia.com/lore/index.php/Guilds
In my opinion, finishing that table and getting all the links in place would be enormously helpful for newbies. I'll do it myself later on in my Lusternian career, if it's not taken care of before then!
Sorry to drag the "simple question" thread off topic, folks.

If you're volunteering to be a chronicler and fill out that page, your application is accepted: send me a PM and we'll finalize the details!

Having a list of the skillsets for each guild would be wonderful!

Well, that is comprehensive, to say the least. It's exactly what I wanted. It's... beautiful.

It suppose it would be feasible to implement something similar in the wiki, link to it from the wiki, or even get Xiel's permission to reproduce it there nearly wholesale — I don't really have a firm grasp of what people (administrators, long-time wiki contributors, Xiel, et cetera) envision for their various projects.
I mean, that page works great for me. I'm thinking about players even newer than I am, or players less persistent in their willingness to research and ask questions (I had figured out how to find the info I wanted, it just wasn't consolidated, as I mentioned).
It took some doing to figure out which guilds use the Stealth skill set (though in retrospect, "Ninja-" should have given me a hint much earlier on). That's what brought this whole thing to my attention.

Oh, I don't mind if people grab what info they need from my pet project. Feel free to copy/pasta if you want, since it's mostly for my own peace of mind that I upkeep it.
Oh, and thanks for calling it pretty.![dazed.gif](style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dazed.gif)

It is pretty! I grabbed a Google site for my programming portfolio, figuring it'd be automagically as pretty as yours.
It doesn't work like that.

Ah that is nice to have all that information together on Viynain's site.
Xiel2010-03-28 05:43:02
I should really finish fleshing out the Geography part of it, but most everything else should work fine, really. I just need information on the Hallifax/Gaudiguch collegiums and it'd be even more solid.

Would I be able to use the post Lady Estarra wrote on the forums regarding building guildlines in a post in game so long as I referenced that they were Her words? Expaning the guildhall and want to help people with coming up with room descriptions, I am afraid I cannot put it any better than how She said it....
Is it the same as in the HELP MORTALBUILDERS file..?

How high is the flying elevation above ground?
Edit: I don't mean like how many elevations, I mean height in feet or something. I'll take it in cubits!

1) High enough that you are above the trees and mountain-tops (should someone scale up).
2) Low enough that people can scan the sky and see you.

12.

What are the various known Nexii that have been built? There's the ones in the basin, then there's the emerald egg... where was that anyway? There's also the ones that the vernals were raised from... anyone got a list, and if possible, what elemental and cosmic planes these Nexii tied to?
Unknown2010-03-30 20:44:13
Since the nexii reach up to astral, and there's 12 astral planes... there were either 12 nexii, or astral adds planes when a new one is built... or we don't have access to all the planes? ![smile.gif](style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif)
I think a good selection for new prime areas would be to go down from astral to the tainted parts of the prime plane where the ruined nexii are![smile.gif](style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif)
