You're only able to transverse ethereal from the two trees and the appropriate gates on the elemental planes.

Aside from the one semi-permanent fissure in Tolborolla.

I did say TRANSVERSE ELEMENTAL, right? :\\ I can't use the trees I thought because I'm Gaudiguchian. I'd have to be Seren or Glom to use one of the trees, wouldn't I?

The Eternal Flame is connected to the Elemental plane of Fire, therefore I should be able to TRANSVERSE ELEMENTAL at the Eternal Flame because I have ElemGate, shouldn't I? I'm so confused. sad.gif

I can use a tree, and I'm a hallifaxian.
Kiradawea2010-04-04 11:26:11
Sorry hun. What you need is GATE in elementalism to use the Nexus. For you, you need to walk through Ethereal to get to Fire. You can usually only go up or down one plane at a time, so Prime to Ethereal to Elemental to Cosmic to Astral. Only Guardians and Mages get to skip that.
Ssaliss2010-04-04 11:32:12
Yep. Which makes that semi-permanent fissure in Tolborolla rather useful.

Others have already touched upon it but I'll try to clarify a bit more. ElemGate in planar allows you to use a gate to the elemental plane. So if there was a rift that existed to the elemental plane, then you could use it. I don't believe nexus gates work the same way and even so, while on prime the next plane out is ethereal. So trying to take a nexus gate to elemental from prime using ElemGate is simply not going to work. As has been mentioned, this is why the Gate skills in either Elementalism or Cosmic are needed. They allow you to get around this limitation and are why mages and guardians are able to jump directly to the specific planes they are tied to.

In regards to your query about whether only Serens or Gloms can use their respective trees to transverse, the Nexus skill in planar allows use of nexus gates no matter what affiliation you are. So a Paladin with that skill could use either tree to get to ethereal. I hope that clears things up some.

All right, I understand now. I'm sorry for the confusion, but it's been a long time since I've played (I've been back for like a month and a half now). I knew Ethereal connected to Prime, but I didn't realize that you could only transverse straight to Elemental if you were a Mage, or that you could transverse from the trees when you're not a part of that specific commune.
Jinx2010-04-04 12:01:23
No worries. I remember when I was confused by it too.
Shaddus2010-04-04 12:57:43
It's because Ethereal is only one plane away from Prime, while Elemental is two.

Prime > Ethereal > Elemental > Cosmic > Astral

You can only transverse one place left or right, unless you have a special attachment to the plane.

What should the stats be for hunting hammers, and what should they be for pvp?

They didn't finish them in time, so they gave us the warriors to give us our next guild until they ARE done, I think.

If that means they're going to be on the full timetable, I'm going to scream. And then proabably walk away from the computer ranting like a madman. sad.gif

For hunting:

Everything in speed. Put what's left in damage.

For fighting:

Enough speed to outpace sipping for you, then the rest in precision.

So... 110/x/280 for hunting, and... what for pvp? If it matters, think krokani bonecrusher.

The very best way to do it is find a friendly forger, and keep lowering the speed from an xx/xx/280, while raising the precision, until you're as low as you can comfortably be and still beat sipping. This will give you the best precision you can get, while accounting for things like latency and your own response times.

Is there a way to check how much power is in each energy collector?

Aeonics "Mindclock", is this aeon immunity or like the Truetime enchantment?

I'll have the full details up tomorrow. I didn't have any heads up about the guilds coming out, or I'd've had them ready to deploy today. I didn't even know there were going to be new skills until the announce post hit!

If anyone wants to suggest an artisanal that's particularly appropriate as art for the Aeonics and/or Paradigmatics page, that'll let me focus on editing the pages so I can get them up sooner.

From my understanding, think of it like part of the former.

Nevermind, they're done, though there's a bug in the wiki on the new server so the art thumbnails aren't working. Not sure when that'll be fixed!
Aeonics
Paradigmatics

Does anyone have a copy of the Mysterial Codex back from when Lord Lacostian was around?
