Does the stun from shield riposte in combat keep the attack from bonecrusher riposte from happening?
And can anyone list all the things in the game that boost your strength stat?![smile.gif](style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif)

A couple that I know of are a Herofete and Geburah in HighMagic.

Is there any difference between setting a design into a masterweapon or not? I know there's a commodity boost, but is there any point to switching the types?
Also, I'm assuming polearms are 2-handed, so switching them to masterweapons will call for the commodity amount made for axes and 2-handed swords too, right.

Question to active Warriors: how viable is Pureblade, how dependent on Demigod is it, and how dependent on weapon runes is it? Is it possible to compete with BM/BC?

Can't answer the polearm question (most historical polearms are one-handed weapons, most MUDs code them as two-handed, so best to actually hold one and test), but as for the masterweapon bit, the forging code still gives better results on master weapons.

People used 16 foot pikes one handed? Or were you thinking of other kinds of historical polearms?
Unknown2010-04-04 23:18:09
I don't think people "used" 16-foot pikes two-handed either, so much as set them in the ground and stood there ![wink.gif](style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif)

A halberd (also called halbert or Swiss voulge) is a two-handed pole weapon that came to prominent use during the 14th and 15th centuries. Possibly the word halberd comes from the German words Halm (staff), and Barte (axe). The halberd consists of an axe blade topped with a spike mounted on a long shaft. It always has a hook or thorn on the back side of the axe blade for grappling mounted combatants. It is very similar to certain forms of the voulge in design and usage. The halberd was 1.5 to 1.8 metres (5 to 6 feet) long.

Halberds are
awesome.
Can I customise my athame to be a halberd?

There's just a bit of an issue there...

Tie a stick to it.

At which point it can no longer be used as an athame.
Essentially, no, you cannot change the basic type of an object.
I suppose you could make it "an athame with a giant stick tied to it," though... but you can't actually make it a halberd.

If you're a skilled practitioner of Paradigmatics and believe in it enough maybe it'll just come true! ![tongue.gif](style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif)
Or maybe it won't.

Solanis Starfall is here. He wields an athame dagger tied to a giant stick that is obviously meant to be a halberd in both hands.
