Does anyone have an idea why I can't open Lusternia's site on three different browsers? All other IRE sites open but Lusternia's just refuse to.

Can't wear robes and shirt/blouse/trousers/skirt.
Oh, okay. Did I miss any clothing article?
And do cloaks always cover gowns and robes (for the purpose of Influencing, for example)?

No. Robes also cover legs/arms, for instance, so they show (or at least that's how I understand it). Basically, if you wear a coat and a cloak, you can still see your robes when somebody looks at you, but not your underwear.

Unless someone has x-ray vision. Appraise, that is.

That reminds me of a Spongebob Squarepants episode wherein Spongebob comments, "Those x-ray glasses were a ripoff! They only let me see through clothes."

Is there an option to not display your family name in Lusternia, so that it doesn't interfere with titles?

Do different types of influencing give different amounts of experience or esteem? And what could cause drastic differences in influencing effectiveness from day to day? Sometimes I can influence in five attempts, sometimes it seems to go on forever. As far as I know, my defenses, clothing, and karma blessings were the same.

There are various things that can affect your influence ability.
Clothing: For all influence types save for begging the higher your prestiege the better. For begging tawdry (I believe would be the best option) So if you are begging and your prestiege is high, it would take longer to influence that mob.
Personalities: Each mob has a set personality(friendly, intimidating, brave, sensous, and greedy) which makes using a particular type of influence on them easier. They will still be able to be influenced via three others but will take a tad bit longer and will be immune to influence attacks from the fifth type. (I.E. Friendly = more succeptable to begging, but immune to paranoia)
I think charisma affects it too.
If you already knew this ignore me....

Domoth blessings might get changed under you without you getting any notification of the change, and that can make a surprisingly big difference, though not as big as what you describe.
Sylphas2010-04-05 19:44:54
Mobs can also grow stubborn and become harder to influence if someone has diverted them or you've run a lot, I think.

This can happen. The ANALYZE state is 'wilfull.' Also, there are mobs that are stronger during certain times or under certain circumstances (Ladies/Daughters, Kephera Queens/Cthoglogg, etc.) Though you yourself are not directly causing the effectiveness of influencing, the strength of the mob you're trying to influence can change.
Mirami2010-04-05 21:04:52
Somebody could also have been storytelling, which would create the drastic change you describe (making mobs much harder to influence).

Here is one maximum clothing combo for the three main layers: boxers, socks, corset, boots, shirt, hat, trousers, gloves, coat, cloak, slippers, scarf, scarf, mask. You can also wear as many things as you want in the accessories layer, so there is no limit really.

Different types of influencing do give slightly different amounts of experience, depending on the denizen's personality. E.g. seducing/empowering/weakening a friendly mob is a bit different from begging from him. I forget which is more.
As for the drastic effectiveness change, there is a bug, which has been reported. It always clears up within an RL day for me. When it happens, you can switch to influencing the denizen with what he is most susceptible to, in my experience.

Lots of people seem to have it in their system to apply health to their body when they get wounded. Do they just have every wound message plugged in, or is there an easier way to know when you want to apply health to a body part?

Systems generally do warrior afflictions in a couple of steps.
Essentially, you trigger all of the "warrior attacks you" lines to enable a folder in which all of the affliction lines are stored. That way you don't have to have a line for every single combination.
Zallafar2010-04-05 22:16:11
My client doesn't have folders, and I'm not quite sure what that means. But for every warrior/monk attack line, yes, I update my estimate of how wounded the relevant bodypart is, and kick off an affliction to heal it.
