I hate my lusternia life.
So another question, because I'm always full of questions. If you melt a weapon down for its component parts, what percentage of those parts do you get back? Since in other games a similar system isn't 100%.
This is especially relevant now that Winnae lost his gold D:

You get back 100% of the metals, 0% of the non-metals. Yes, even gemstones (like diamonds) are lost... but soft metals are just fine.

There's definitely something odd with shops right now...

Nothing on diag. I'm not getting any "you can't move so fast" or extra "n"s. Any idea why some of them would be going missing? Is this just messages getting lost for 20m due to lag? Also I got the prompt back...

Will a pit trap prevent someone from leaving the room via tumble?
If you tumble out of a room, you will not fall into any pits. However, if you are in a pit, you can't tumble.

Does this mean Lerad had two grapples on me? Is it possible to be grappled twice at one time?
Each arm holds a separate grapple, I believe. A leftover from the changes when you could have one-armed grapples (they should now all be two-armed).

Amnesia seems the most likely cause then, or are you gagging the "you can't move so fast" message?
Shiri2010-04-09 10:07:25
I can't gag, I'm on Nexus. And I don't know how it could have been amnesia, it kept happening several times in a row and I wasn't fighting things inbetween. Stopped now though.

AHAAAAAAAAAA. Sylphas, I bet it was you "donating" your entourage.
That's interesting though, I thought they used to have a message about bumbling around between your legs and then you lost balance. Was that nerfed for some reason?

Regarding pits and tumble/directional movement. Here is everything you need to know.
Basics
-Traps are aligned by exit in a room. So room with four exits can have one trap on each exit.
-Traps can be put at ground level, and simotaneously in the trees, but not underground or in the air.
-You trigger a trap with normal movement when you enter or leave the trapped room through the exit that is trapped.
-Traps strike you if the tracker has you personally enemied, and is online and on the same plane as you.
-When someone strikes a pit, they trigger it. A triggered pit will not activate a second time until it is reconcealed.
-Trackers may reconceal pits while a person is still inside of them.
Movement related stuff.
-If you're in a room with pitted exits, but are not in a pit, you will fall in a pit inside that room when you walk out.
-If you're in a room with pitted exits, but are not in a pit, you will not fall in a pit inside that room when you tumble out.
-If you're in a room with pitted exits, but are not in a pit, you will not fall in a pit inside that room when you are forced out. (gust, tackle, etc.)
-If you are adjacent to a room with pitted exits, and enter the adjacent room through an entranced pitted in that room, you will fall in a pit in that adjacent room when you walk in.
-If you are adjacent to a room with pitted exits, and enter the adjacent room through an entranced pitted in that room, you WILL fall in a pit in that adjacent room when you tumble in to the room.
-If you are adjacent to a room with pitted exits, and enter the adjacent room through an entranced pitted in that room, you WILL fall in a pit in that adjacent room when you have been moved by forced movement (gust, tackle, etc.)
-If you tackle a person through a pitted exit, you wil strike the pit in the same room your in, but the forced movement will still occur. The person you tackle may strike a pit in the next room, as per the rules above. So, if you and a target are both enemied to a tracker, and you tackle a target through an exit that is pitted both in your existing room, and in the room you are tackling into, you will fall into a pit in the room you started the tackle from, and your target will be moved to the adjacent room and fall into the pit for that exit there.
Other fun facts
-Pits cannot be placed in trees or in water, though the other traps can.
-A non aquatic room with pits in it can then be flooded per aqua demesne. The pits will still fire in this case.
-Spike pits hold five spikes, each spike can be envenomed with one application of a poison. These will all strike simotaneously and be resolved independently.
-Springtraps, deadfalls, legsnares, and stinktraps expend themselves after firing once. The commodities are destroyed and cannot be recouped, and the trap cannot be "reset" like a pit.
-Darts hold 50 darts. Each dart can have a poison applied to it.
I'm sure there's other stuff.

Thanks for all the trap info I still have one question left though... what can someone do while in a pit? They can't move or tumble until they get out, but can they attack and can they be attacked?

Without trying to get into specifics, they can cure, they can attack things also in the pit (snakes), and they can try and get out of the damn pit one way or another.
They cannot attack outside of the pit, but its not ALL bad news. People attacking into the pit can only hit their chest, arms, and head. Also, some effects fade, and they can't be hit by some non-targeted attacks (beast trample, for example).

Anyone know how to order beasts to give things to people? I've tried BEAST ORDER GIVE CANDY TO ME and BEAST ORDER FLOOFIE GIVE CANDY TO ME but it won't work. Yes. My hippogriff is named Floofie.

Most people will give armor/weapons back. Only REAL asses won't do it.

You could get the item cursed. Downside is you can never take it off, unless you lose the ability to wear the affected item for whatever reason.
