But Xenthos told me earlier that guards were changed and don't attack until one has been slain? Why did they all hit me?
... your own guards don't. Because you're in their org.
Other guards still do.

I know in HELP PETS it says, "Custom beasts must make sense as beasts (i.e., not humanoid beings or other creatures that would be inappropriate as beasts) that you could (at least) be able to ride." However, what if I just want a bipedal pet that I don't intend to ride or train? Would I be able to request it, or should I just design something new?

Just imported Shuyin's system (many thanks!) and a few aliases doubled up, meaning that my bashing setup was still going when I thought I had switched to influencing. Ended up doing this:
But Xenthos told me earlier that guards were changed and don't attack until one has been slain? Why did they all hit me?
Also, wtf is wight and why did it make me have to pray?

A Wight is undead. See- Raise Dead
Also, beggars are guards?

They're loyal to Mag, as are the guards. Thus, the beggar assisted.

So here's the dilemma. I'm currently almost trans in herbalism (up to sparkleberries) which is good money but business has been slow lately and I can't seem to find a forger for the life of me. So my decision is this, either wait for me to get lucky enough to find a damn forger and keep herbs for money/credits (not planning on spending RL money on credits), or I could drop herbs and put all the lessons in forging. I know I wouldn't be as high in forging as I am in herbs but atleast I could supply myself with some gear.
Oh and I'm an Ebonguard

Keep herbs. Look harder for a forger. Ask every 30 minutes over market. You'll find one.
Esano2009-01-04 07:30:47
Keep Herbs. Find a forger.
Unknown2009-01-04 07:33:17
Take forging, it's fun and productive! At lot of people bad-talk it because they don't know the secrets to make it quick and easy. If you don't have a guild forger, or a friend that does it, it might end up costing you quite a bit, and you'll have to keep going back to a forger when your stuff decays.
Kiradawea2009-01-04 11:40:36
Herbs. Master-Weapon is practically trans so you still can't make your own good weapons.

So I played a long time ago and I just decided to start back up (finally pulled the plug on WoW). So I've been reading up on the forums trying to decide what to play (race/org/guild) cause back when I played there weren't any monks or bards.
So here's my question. Firstly, is this game worth playing without buying credits? and Secondly which guild/class would I be best off with.
Note: I like all aspects of the game, I don't wanna be stuck just RPing cause thats not easy to do alone, but on the other side I don't hafta be a hot-shot pvper just wanna be adequate.

There are many people who are decent, or more than decent, combatants without having ever bought credits with RL money. There are enough ways to earn them ingame to make buying them NOT a neccessity. As for what guild you should join, that is entirely up to you and your preference.

The other side of this, the side that people usually forget to mention, is that while it's perfectly viable to go at it without credits bought with dollars, you still need to buy credits. If you're not doing it with dollars, you're doing it with gold (or labor, if you're talented and fortunate). It does mean making some sacrifices while you're still growing. You can't have expensive toys like manses laden with furniture or aetherships until after you've established yourself skill-wise.

While the files for Tracking's different traps tell you what different traps do, NONE of them tell you how traps work, so:
-Must you be in the "general area" for a trap to go off? And what defines this area?
-When you lay traps in a direction, will they go off if:
-People ENTER the room the trap is in from that direction?
-People LEAVE the room the trap is in from that direction?
-Will you receive a notice when a trap goes off, whether you are in the area or not?
I'd really like to start using this part of Tracking again, but I never understood it in the first place.

You need to be in the general area, have them enemied and declared.
They go off on both exit and entering, so if you have one north, if someone comes from the north, it fires, if someone in your room leaves to the north, it fires.
You don't get a notice, ever, if you actually have a decent amount of traps, good luck finding which ones have gone, since traps disappear from trapslist.

Someone thought this was a good idea, why?

By "general area" he means the same plane.

And 'bells' to let a tracker know that a trap has been tripped is on my list. Somewhere.
