Alright, since none of my other questions have given me the info I need to help my friend decide which guild she wants to make a character for, I'll just ask one more and then give up. tongue.gif

Do either Nekotai or Ninjakari have any blatant (dis)advantages going for them that could help make the decision?

Edit: And just a note, I'm not like talking about which one is more OP, really. Just general things to take into account as she probably won't be aiming to be a top-tier combatant or anything.

If the skills don't call her one way or the other, it seems like a choice between Magnagora and Glomdoring.

Well, the problem is she's torn between the skills as well. She likes the poison kicking and the claws and the one attack that lets you jump in, do a kata, and then get the hell out of there for Nekotai, but then she also really likes the wrapping a barbed chain around someone and tearing it away too. tongue.gif

And as for Magnagora vs Glomdoring, I think she may like the feel of Magnagora a bit better on paper (Dark Nobility + Clockwork) than Glomdoring, but I wasn't sure if there was a decent sized population left in Mag. A decent amount of people being around to RP with would definitely be a plus for her.

Is it intended that when a hermit card is placed back into a magical deck it loses the location it was set to? I was thinking of making and maintaining a set of common bashing and questing spots but if cards decay within a month that plan is kind of ruined.

Any riftables work like this. When you INR it destroys the object you're inning and basically increments a counter in your rift space. When you OUTR, it decrements a counter and creates a new object of that type. So basically, it doesn't preserve any associated state information. This is, by the way, why you shouldn't imbue riftables with esteem.

Anyways, this should apply to anything that uses rift like syntax, like wads of meat, facets, runes, and of course, Tarot cards.

Either guild might be lacking, but the the full org should be fine in either case. If Mag's flavour is more appealing, I'd see no reason not to go for it.

Both have a decent enough population. She'll just have to work up from the serf bit from Mag and, depending on the time, the busy-ness of Glom to get things done. Either way, she should be able to find something she likes from one or the other, and I think we're both lenient enough orgs to not mind when nublets move.

My only concern with Mag is that they used to be the sort of place where unless you were a combatant you didn't even really exist. But I'm guessing that's changed a bit, given they're Cultural center and all.

Both orgs have people who work a lot to maintain/improve the org's Culture. (ahem ahem)

Guild might be lacking? The Nekotai have done fairly well lately. At peak, I've seen as many as 6 or 7 players. Only 1 or 2 in the off, off hours. A good average playerbase might be about four with at least one elected/appointed leader present 90% of the time.

Either guild is heathy and viable, and we share a social clan between us. . . So there is always someone whether IC or OOC.

Nnnope, don't remember Magnagora being like that. 'Cept maybe right at the beginning, when it was basically Valekville.

Now I want to know who Valek is so I can get the reference.
Jack2010-07-10 13:20:56
Angry, angry young man. He was a good combatant (though it was at the start of the game when everyone was clueless) so he got preferential treatment. He basically had a psychotic break a couple months in when informed Magnagora was not his personal playground, and got thrown out after killing the then-Emperor. This would've been great RP if it, you know, had been RP, but he was just a loonie in real life.
Llesvelt2010-07-10 13:25:31
Well, that is rather sad.
Unknown2010-07-10 13:25:33
Valek was definitely pants-on-head crazy.
Ixion2010-07-10 13:29:36
He also stole a guild clan (long before deed bindings), asshat.

I actually didn't realise until looking at the family tree just now that Feyranti was founded by him and Brona. It's done pretty well with that background, all things considered.

(Remember Brona too? Yeahhhh.)

Brona?

Argh! References!
Shaddus2010-07-10 16:00:32
In reference to the Ninjakari or Nekotai thing: Nekotai has a slightly better skillset, and Ninjakari aren't as good against acrobats, because half of their good attacks are entangling ones.

Does anyone have a sketch/painting of Kethuru the Almighty somewhere?
