I was looking for someone to bug and teach me the finer of points of Celestine combat IG, hence the asking around for a good one.

Hm, here's a question, but I think it might be connected to a quest. If it is, well, shame.
This:
A flow of lava has cascaded down from above and coagulated, creating a sheer wall of volcanic rock.
What is that? I know there's something behind it, but how am I supposed to pass through? I had a feeling that the Environment Crashing might have something to do with it, but I'm still too far from it.

It has nothing to do with Crashing and everything to do with finding an alternate method of moving it.

When in doubt, read the verbose description of the room and item very carefully, and then start using random movement verbs (push, pull, turn, enter etc) on the item. Sometimes the help file related to the area also provides a hint, such as with HELP TOSHA.

Are NPCs supposed to notice and greet me while I am Sneaking and Veiled, or is this a bug?
Jonas2009-02-23 21:27:49
It should depend on the NPC. I know Madam Yith always said when I snuck past, "YOU WALK SO LOUDLY!" It really ticked off my character.

Maybe your character shouldn't walk so loudly!

What exactly is the difference between Meteor and Meteor Storm in Astrology? I'd guess that Meteor Storm is basically casting Meteor at all enemies at once, but I'm not certain.

Are there any denizens who can teach that aren't loyal to an organization? I'm fairly certain there aren't, but I'm just curious.

Correct. Much as Meteor targets and damages a singular enemy with negative spheres, Meteor Storm will hit all enemies within the room with negative spheres on them. Mind, both require that the targets be outdoors still.
Edit: @Hyperion: No, I don't believe that there are any non-loyal denizen teachers.

Is there a particular reason the races of the Undervault are associated with psionics?

Don't feel alone. I couldn't find any either, not even to answer a simple question such as "Do we use poisons as Celestines during combat?" I needed to know if I should start working on buying some, heh. I'm going to try the Paladins and see if I have better luck.

It won't help with that particular object, but the push/pull/turn/touch technique is needed for just about every quest at some point.

None that I'm aware of.

Not as a Celestine, no. But you will need poisons as a Paladin. The Paladins guild is pretty good in terms of self-help, by the way, so please be sure to check it out.

Used to be, I believe, you could learn from any nexus tutor if you weren't in an org. But, since someone decided rogues were evil, you pretty much have to be in an org to do almost anything.

I think you misread the question.
All Nexus tutors have always been org loyals, so there have never been any non-loyals to learn from.
And I believe that rogues can still learn from nexus tutors. Why do you think that's not the case?

Meh, seems a little weak for 10 power then, but I guess I just haven't been using it as well as I should. Time to get back to work.

They'll teach you up until level 20 or something, then they will reject you.

I'll take the massive leap of intuition and assume it's the same as statues. As the AB instructs, you need to look at 'tune statue/totem' for instructions.
tune statue
TUNE
TUNE
TUNE
TUNE
TUNE
TUNE
TUNE
Tuning against makes it hit, tuning for makes it not hit (even if they fit the criteria for hitting). So you can make a statue tuned against all but those of Celest, and tune it for members of Serenwilde, and anyone not of Celest or Serenwilde will get hit. This was done in Stewarts, I think.

Once wrath wears off, is it prudent to burn 10 power and set it up again? Is it prudent to change investment order mid battle? What methods does a Celestine have to achieve an absolve kill, short of brutally afflicting them to the point where they could probably be killed with judgement or Soulless anyways?
