How does a Moondancer's sleeplock work? Waning + sleep + order target metawake off, how does it synergize?

order off, doublewhammy, pixie, waning. I think.

Whose balance does ordering the pooka use? Yours? And I'm guessing you have to time the double whammy and the pixie together, and hope it takes them long enough to wake up that you can throw on waning? What prevents from insomnia or kafing or even metawake on after waking up? Isn't aeon delay only a second?
Unknown2009-03-16 07:59:52
Pooka = requires your balance, doesn't consume it. Pooka ticks just like every fae, telling you that you can order them.

Well for me, it'd be. Vapors (blackout) in which I pooka metawake off and wane to strip quicksilver. Then when pooka ticks again, order smoke coltsfoot, double whammy sleep, which strips insomnia, as well as kafe. Then wane after that.

Those rich people use pooka metawake off, beast sleep and doublewhammy, which allows them to do it in one go. THey still have to strip quicksilver first though. Timing with pixie, is a bit iffy.

After you wane and sleep, you can probably throw things on them, like anorexia stupidity etc. Also, some people like Jinx, instead of aeon.

Sleep defenses: Metawake, kafe and insomnia

Metawake: You pooka order them to metawake off.
Insomnia: First sleep strips insomnia, second puts them to sleep, which is why you doublewhammy.
Kafe: The next sleep attack after the person is sleeping strips kafe, which is why you time it with pixie, or get a beast with sleepmist.

What forms of detection other than the wholist does the ability Mindfield (Psychometabolism) not block, and who possesses them?

Esano2009-03-16 08:46:23
Mindfield doesn't block abilities, just cause damage to the scrier. And I'm going to guess other generics, like demesne sense, scent, etc.

How do Flashpoints work in the Commander specialization of Aethercraft?

Is traversing the aetherways without the ability much longer and more difficult for a small, unarmed ship?
Esano2009-03-16 08:58:27
CODE
Flashpoint          Create flashpoints to aid in navigation.
Fabled  0%
Syntax: PILOT FLASHPOINT NAME
        PILOT FLASHPOINT RECALL
        PILOT FLASHPOINT FORGET
Module: Command Chair
Power:  10 to name

By creating a flashpoint, you can cause your ship to recall locations
in the aetherways. Upon asking your ship to recall the flashpoints,
you will be given the general direction to travel to return to those
locations. A ship can remember no more than three flashpoints.

I'm going to guess yes. But keep in mind that smaller ships move faster, so you could outrun most beasties.

EDIT: Because it's relevant, this is what really makes flashpoints useful
CODE
Fusion              Jump ship to a flashpoint or synchronized ship.
Mythical  0%
Syntax: PILOT FUSE FLASHPOINT
        PILOT FUSE SHIP
        PILOT FUSE BERTH
Module: Command Chair
Power:  10

Fusing with the presence of a flashpoint or with a ship that your
empath has synchronized with will cause your ship to travel to that
flashpoint or ship.
Unknown2009-03-16 09:04:06
Fusion is basically like having three teleport locations, or three milestones.
Razenth2009-03-16 09:09:18
What's the range on ship synchronization or parasiting?

Also, has Nihilist with a beast considered performing a sleeplock before? Or can you not mask the first sleep attack to strip insomnia?

What exactly is the point of being enemied to something like Earth Lords? They do not become aggressive, there is no quest related to them (that I'm aware of), and I can just waltz up to Gravynia any day and get a reprieve. So yeah, am I missing something or is there really no point?
Unknown2009-03-16 09:57:58
Well, if you ever wanted to join Magnagora, I think it'd be a problem if they snarled at you everytime you walked past.

Otherwise, no.

If I understand this right... mindfield give psionic damage in return to those who use a psionic attack against you. (You can test this with another psymet by having them shank you with a psychicblade). The damage is somewhere in the realm of 300's; not much, but enough to be annoying. This also happens to include damage to scriers, though I think your allies are spared.

It's not "psionic attacks" so much as psionic damage-dealing attacks. Tks are thus largely unaffected, amongst other things.

You feel a presence next to you.

Whazat? Half of Glom said it was a dreamweaver (indigo showed nothing), Urazial said a Guide (why would they be sneaking around in EtherGlom (and I don't remember any invis powers when I guided!)), whatever it was that was it. Nothing past that...

It looks like the messages for farheal/farcure. Or something else in healing, maybe?

Definitely farheal.

Manifestations of the Dreaming also occasionally have an ambiance message like that, which tics rarely and isn't as reliable as just looking for the sparkling wind when it moves.
Urazial2009-03-16 17:10:49
Except with farheal you can detect the specific healer's presence, even if they're healing someone else. Unless it's been changed?
