I'll post a bashing guide when I get back from work.

I bashed to 75 as a mage within a week, and was 80 by the end of the following week, and I wasn't a particularly motivated basher.

Does the Wilde have a tradition of the Wild Hunt, or is this a piece of RL mythology not incorporated into Lusternia?

I don't know about the Serenwilde, but the Shadowdancers got their own version of the Wild Hunt! Too bad it hardly (I've never seen it) happens. My sole motivation to attempt Seer of Binding is so that I can call Wild Hunts. happy.gif

How long is the incubation period? For beasts, that is.
Xiel2009-03-24 00:28:44
30 hours.
Unknown2009-03-24 00:30:27
Oh, I thought it finished incubating when it reached 500 mana. doh.gif

Can rogues bring scholars and bards to the World Library and the Vesteran Stage respectively?

What's the command for setting someone as trademaster of a cartel, but not the owner? It's been a while, and I couldn't find it in the help.
Xiel2009-03-24 01:51:40
CARTEL TRADEMASTER
Richter2009-03-24 01:53:37
Thanks Xiel!

What? No.

Anyone, anywhere can get 80 within a week if they want it, and they can maintain a life. 2-3 weeks if you take your time. 80 is very easy to get. "Two months of solid bashing" is a ridiculous overstatement.

What? No.

edit: If you know what you're doing (not playing your first character), are Jozan and hog the guards for influencing, or go on group bashing parties often, then it might be easy. But on your own, for someone new, trying to figure out the best places to bash, there is no way they are going to get level 80 in a week, especially if they have a life. Like, oh, I dunno, school or work. If all they do is log in and bash, yeah, but for the average player who likes to delve into questing, exploring, guild/city advancement, etc, it's going to take longer than a week.

Celina is the rare type that can tolerate bashing for more than a couple hours at a time. I personally can't tolerate more than an hour or so. This is part of the reason I want to do harm to AFK guard influencers. AFK is for forging, not for grinding. A week is a bit on the impressive side, but you have to figure that 1-15 is free, 16-40 can be done in about eight hours of hardcore xp mashing, and it's not really work until the 70's. When I actually set my mind to bashing (read: three hours per day, so still pretty lightweight), I went from 74-82 in about a week and a half.

Sure there is. Take advice from people that know what they are talking about.

Maybe I didn't clarify. If your goal is to get 80 and you are focused on that goal, you can get it in a week and maintain a job/school/what have you. If you want to fart around and explore and whatever, naturally it's going to take longer. It's perfectly reasonable to say you can hit 80 in 1 or 2 weeks. Two months, however, is for people who are not motivated or don't really give a flip about 80.

I can usually go for a solid two hours before I'm like "alright, screw this. I'm done." I've been a titan for many months.

I am blatantly doing something wrong. Thinking on it, I must bash at least 6-8hours on my days off, and 4 hours on off-days. It's been two weeks since level 75, and I just made 79. It may be that I accepted .40% as the new norm, or that I started getting shafted out of Krokani and Spectres, and not having a city and compatriots hurts, but... hrm.

I need to spend more time searching for hunting grounds.

Is being reluctant to attack something that might get you enemied to either side that big of a detriment to exp gain?

yes.

Of course, if you sink some lessons into influence, you dont have to worry about getting enemied, you can just go and influence them for levels instead of killing them.

I influence various guards and UV denizens- the exp is about .10-30% each, and even with Transcendant Influence and Fabled Dramatics abilities...very sluggish as a Ninjakari. I typically do better hunting random things between spawning times than I do sitting around influencing 30 or so guards.

AFAIK, your class has nothing to do with it, unless you have skills that boost your ego.
And you get more xp from influencing a mob than you do from killing it.
