As I may have mentioned, we are beginning a new marketing campaign which will hopefully increase our playerbase. As part of this, we have developed a new web Registration Page.
Test it out and let us know how it works!

I like it!! I like the helpful links on the page. I like that the registration email includes the character name and password and all those helpful links. Very cool!

Very nice!
Very good looking too, kudos.

It looks nice, neat, simple. It's "cute" in its own way.
I approve.

The java applet page loads really slowly in IE. (slow enough that I thought the page was broken at first)
Also, the links on the bottom of the page default to replacing the current wndow, which is really bad if you are trying to play the game, and then want to look at the maps. You will lose your window, and be very sad. Those should probabbly open up in new windows, or the java applet should be its own window.

That password thing is impossible to get to full strength. I couldn't get it past strong, even after 15 unicode letters
Daganev2008-09-29 19:33:07
The registration email is really nice too!
Edit: Tough I think you should put something in that lets them know that you know that the email address is also associated with another charachter, and if it is, put in a link to HELP SECONDS

That is a GREAT point.
Done!

Heh, the password I use to log into everything at work actually gets the strongest raiting.
My password for Lusternia comes close, if I added in a couple more numbers.

When you press one of the input fields to put in the info, the fields move a bit to the left because a small arrow is added and it changes the width of the tables (or something in that area) - I'm using IE7 with 1280x1024 resolution.
It's no biggy, but personally I hate when the page moves when focus changes in it...
Also, I noticed that you added a character name validation to make sure no special character or number are added, but it doesn't stop me from using capital letters in the middle of the name, and I'm not sure how the name is later entered in the game, but I hate when people use capital letters in the middle to "claim" some names, like using "I" instead of "l".
Edit: Oh, one more thing, for the email verification, something like this, "waldor+lusternia@gmail.com", is valid. Servers use it to filter, like gmail.

Unfortunatly the java application can not see that or it would immediatly translate it to poor. Especially if you have a program (think ILIAS, a stock keeping program, or accounting programs) that does not lock out after 3 tries and does not force you to change every x time.
Using a password multiple times = bad
Okin2008-09-30 04:43:35
It's spiffy, I love it.
What are you waiting for! is actually a question. Bad grammar like that would turn me off a text-based game.
There are other (relatively minor) grammar issues, that's just the one that stuck out to me. Also, the description of the Character Name field uses the word 'unique' twice in quick succession, and it reads oddly. My suggestion is to change the first instance to "an identifier" instead of "a unique identifier."

It seems to be missing the standard navigation menu down the left hand side, too.

But being able to remember your passwords = good.
Also, Grammatical error, line nine, fourth of four bullet points.
"...What are you waiting for!" is a question and should be marked as such with a question mark.
EDIT: Friggin Okin ninja'd me by a solid 7 minutes.... how?

That's actually correct grammar. It's an entirely non-standard colloquialism to double punctuate exclamatory questions. The "proper" way is that the exclamation point trumps.
...that being said, I agree that the wrong way looks better.

Except for 'everything at work' is based on a single system, so there is no possible way for it to be different.
Okin2008-09-30 15:34:50
For the sake of the many people out there who'll look at "What are you waiting for!" and go "Eww," perhaps the italicisation would be enough indication of emphasis?
Also, yay, my very first ninja!

I don't believe using "What are you waiting for!" as a declaration was bad grammar, but I went ahead and changed anyway.

"Sign up below and play for free now!"
That's a bit misleading, isn't? It's a false allusion to having to pay to play later on, or if you don't sign up now you'll have to pay later...I don't know, I don't like that phrase. The page itself, however, looks nice. Good choice with the loboshigaru race pic
I'd make the pictures clickable though, and have them lead to their race page. Maybe have random pictures appear each time the page is accessed.
