Here's the log of the 2008 State of Lusternia. Now I go and run away with my poor fingers.

Edit: HA, I fixed it. Go here -> http://xieltalnara.googlepages.com/stateof...iameetingrecord

Hopefully that'll work for you lot.

Longass log appears to be functional since the forums threw a temper tantrum, bumping!

?

This thread both confuses and infuriates me!

I put it back, nyah, Shiribot.

(Skeleton Hearth): Arkzrael (from the Prime Material Plane) says, "I thought it
came from the testicles."

I credit this meeting with three big Fs.

Funny.
Fail.
Fornicated Under Conset of the King (acronym for bad word here).

God, I had to stop reading that log half way through. This in particular made me cringe...

Prince Aletheus Inalai, Knight of the Dawn says to Charune, "Well, let's say that we wished to air our concerns about the Tainted Broadcast Centre restricting a common novice quest and not having a good counter. What is the best place to do that? Forums can leave one not knowing whether it's been read and is being addressed."

Way off topic and just a poorly disguised chance for him to moan about TBC. Aletheus really had no business at that meeting. He just whined about Mag the entire time.

Ur'Tormentor Ceren Valtyros says, "Thought 7 was more about warriors being better than everyone else."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Oh good grief, lets not get on that."

lol moment of the log.
Shiri2008-09-29 08:27:43
If there was "whining about Mag" it's because there really does exist an inconsistency with the stance on conflict quests that led to removing the inner sea quest and then replacing them...with the TBC.

EDIT: In reality the jury's still out on how much that meeting failed though, depends how much of the stuff that was brought up, understood AND agreed on actually gets fixed. Guess we'll see how optimistic I ought to be in the next few weeks.
Unknown2008-09-29 08:34:31
Anyone feel like giving me a summary of the log?

As in.. how much was brought up, how much was dismissed, how much was discussed and finally how much was accepted / agreed to be changed?

Then that issue should have been raised (maybe it was in the second half, I'll read it later). Aletheus tried to bring it up in a totally seperate issue. He did whine about Mag almost every time he spoke. It was painful to read. We're making all the poor Celestine's qq and something must be done about it, when he's clueless about Lusternia's conflict history. I guess that's what you get when you elect a 27 year old to speak for an org.

Lots was brought up, not enough was talked about, things were skipped over, and things were argued over.

Really, there should be a conference like this once an RL week for two weeks for each topic.

Month A Week 1 & 2 - #s for playerbase concern
Month A Week 3 & 4 - PvP credit concerns
Month B Week 1 & 2 - Org Alliances

etc.
Unknown2008-09-29 08:42:34
This could of been good but things really got sidetracked it seems. Everyone was trying to talk about a lot of things and it just got messy.

Also, would someone post that pamphlet that was talked about?

Yeah, we tried but again I think we ran out of time.

Honestly, with only 2 hours and having to explain certain things several times (and then argue about them when they were understood) it cut the time slots for some issues pretty fine.
Unknown2008-09-29 08:50:12
In other words, bad organisation.

@Myrkr: I'm going to be very sarcastic here and say that your suggestion assumes that people care about player opinions / concerns in the first place.

Oh yeah, I understand that. Considering there were at least 13 points on the pamphlet (and Esterra's "wtf, this is long" reaction) I can imagine how tight time must have been. The Mags seemed kind of out of it for the first half
Esano2008-09-29 08:51:13
@Myrkr: Actually, that's something I thought would be good. A regular meeting with representatives of each org and Lusternia's head honchos. As we won't need Iashe, hopefully it can be a little bit more flexible.

And though I'm not reading through it, I'm a bit disappointed that several things were dismissed, although they were rather important. Entry requirements for combat was one of them.
Gregori2008-09-29 08:51:14
Really you had way to many things to talk about I mean that pamphlet had what 13 topics and 8 subsets? That's 9 minutes a topic, 5 minutes if you count each subset as a topic. Include interruptions, pauses for typing, horse play, and you are down to 2 minutes a topic. Barely enough time to say "hey this is the problem." Have none of you ever been to a board meeting before?

Each Org should have brought 1 issue to the table. The meeting was mostly an exercise in futility and confusion about what the issues really are.

Edited: for other random thoughts.

I love how it looks like nothings going to change with forging. freaked.gif
Unknown2008-09-29 08:58:12
The idea of making these meetings more regular would be nice. Not weekly but every two months maybe. I'd really like it if it was a way to bring a envoy like system to things outside of skillsets.

Actually there were 11, but I failed at numbering and went from 11 to 13.1-13.8...for some reason. But yes. As for the Mags, Thoros was commenting in tells and such a bit, dunno about other than that though.

Tenqual: they said forging's changing, just not any time soon.

Wrt organisation: actually, we had no idea it was only going to be 2 hours until we got there, so we prepared the pamphlet with the (optimistic, in retrospect) idea that we'd be able to explain and discuss each.

Some of those problems were much smaller than others. I wasn't expecting to get sidetracked into a domoth thing when I noted that we wanted the power cut unrelated to how the system is fixed to work, and the forging thing took a while longer than I expected too. Plus having to explain things several times managed to drag out point 1 a while, and 4 was a quagmire anyway. Meh.
