Maybe it's not an issue for people who only forge items for themselves, and don't do it for other people, since you can pick and choose what you want, but if you forge for other people, they expect the best, you don't get paid otherwise.
That being said, Caedryn and Asarnil did complain, but they're pretty much two of the most iconic forgers who actually sold weapons to people, Exeryte being another who has complained about it, as has pretty much everyone who tries to make money via forging.

I think I made over 1200 credits forging.
But it relied on a lot of breaking AFK rules, and having a forge in my manse.
I also only sold customized weapons and shields.

While that's not too shabby, it's less than a quarter of what I made from selling herbs and I probably spent less than half the time picking them, too.

Don't you have a reputation for making an insane amount more than most people do though?

Actually, as far as business meetings go, and technically it was a business meeting, 2 hours is fairly long.
It really isn’t fair to compare this to a business meeting, it was more similar to that of a town hall, union, or the type of meeting a volunteer organization would have. It certainly wasn’t long by any reasonable standard for meetings being conducted by typing. Meetings of these types rarely run under an hour unless there is virtually no business on the agenda.

Maybe, but not with the herbs. I make most of it through coding. I didn't really do anything with the herbs that others couldn't do. It's not like I was spending hours and hours searching, harvesting, and selling. Just picked what I could when I had the time.

Really you had way to many things to talk about I mean that pamphlet had what 13 topics and 8 subsets? That's 9 minutes a topic, 5 minutes if you count each subset as a topic. Include interruptions, pauses for typing, horse play, and you are down to 2 minutes a topic. Barely enough time to say "hey this is the problem." Have none of you ever been to a board meeting before?
Yes.
This was a meeting with the Pres of IRE watching. Thus:
Desitrus Kamau says, "I would suggest cost of entry since Iashe has some form of
an idea of how much the average player should spend to break into IRE?"
is good.
Estarra, the Eternal says, "Ok so basically celestia and nil are being too
griefer friendly."
Prince Aletheus Inalai, Knight of the Dawn says, "Yes, we've seen a large drop
in attendance on CWHO and general morale because Celestia is constantly getting
smashed. Magnagora has a more powerful army, and there's no question about that,
but the problem is people aren't even logging in anymore because there is
nothing we can do about it in the era of quick cubix entry and exit."
is not. This issue is something that is specific to Estarra and Co. and really has no relevance to a meeting with the president.
Aletheus sort of answered the issue himself 'Magnagora has a more powerful army' which is directly related to the bigger issue of bringing more consumers in and getting them to stay (see Desitrus, below). These smaller issues that have a certain amount of emotional baggage erode time for addressing the important problems.
Also kudos to Nejii for speaking coherently about a majority of the meta problems. And to Desitrus for the following in particular.
Charune, the Horned One says to Shuyin, "Why not make Environment better?"
Desitrus Kamau says, "Because I don't want to pay for it."
Desitrus Kamau says, "I think you're losing business to the daunting cost of
entry here."

Please, no!

After lots of thinking, I have picked out my favourite part of the whole meeting.
Estarra asking Thoros if he was griefing Celest came very close.

Celen? So part of Serenwilde is slacking too?

Right. And most of those are disorganized and a waste of time.

Definitely. Having one exit from the pool makes life so much harder then having multiple exits. Even having 2 exits would be a big improvement.

If emotes weren't blocke, about halfway through that, I would have started whining.
And when asked why, I would have said, "Aletheus is contagious, I think his snivveling is spreading. "

Given that Iashe does not 'exist' in Lusternia beyond Administrative duties, getting a sketch of him and using it in game would be very bad.

Well, read the whole thing, will be interesting to see if anything changes for the better.
Desitrus2008-09-30 02:32:37
Keep in mind people some amount of years ago before you started playing hated that the Pool had multiple exits when you could beckon off it...

Desitrus Kamau says, "Complaining about player ethics isn't even relative."
Lawl at the whining about griefing in this meeting. Seemed pretty out of place to me.
Otherwise seemed ok, but as has been said before more time was needed on the big issues and the wierd/pointless issues should have been dropped.
