Anyone done it before? Let me know about your experiences, wether you're international who traveled to the country or otherwise. A lot of companies seem to run programs where you teach for 9 weeks or so, muck around in the US for 30 days, and then leave. Since this is the largest easily accessible natural resource of multinationals, (yank or otherwise)? Was going to use CCUSA, but might switch to BUNAC. Anyone had problems with either company? Was trying to do Massachusetts, closely followed by Texas, then New York State. Teaching the nebulously defined "Fitness", which I understand is typically taking kids for a run as well as teaching gym classes, easy stuff.

Those are going to be some crazy censor.gif kids when Uncle Yrael is done with them. suspicious.gif

No luck at all? I'd settle for regular (yank) folks describing their camp experiences, honest.

And Stangmar, they might come out a hell of a lot more cynical and sarcastic if it's a "normal" camp, but there is a chance that I'll be selected for an inner city charity camp - kids who are probably more streetwise than I am. I'm sure I'll come back in baggy pants and yelling "yo" in that case. Possibly listening to rap music, or whatever other stereotype rears it's ugly head.

Great fun really.

Just bring sedatives for the kids and slip them into the obnoxious kid's milk.
But seriously I have had mates going to those types of camps in the U.S. and they haven't complained. In fact one mate goes there as often as he can. The pay aint fabulous -as predicted- but you have freedom to mozzy around when you aren't on duty (most of the time, depending where the camp is situated) and you get free food and accommodation. I'd say go for it.

I never went to camp as a kid. sad.gif

I'd ask my parents if I could go and they'd say, "You don't want to go to camp! There will be mosquitos and poison ivy and probably outdoor toilets."

It was parent-talk for "That's way too expensive" of course, cause they didn't care if I ran around in the woods near the house where there were mosquitos and poison ivy anyway. laugh.gif

Ta. I'm going to take a swing at it. I'd rather try the Russian one, but that's double the cost and for less pay and less time. I'd say "Hey, everyone in that area, let's hook up!" but I imagine that it'd be like cockroaches running when the light is switched on.

Or a mob with torches and pitchforks.

My mom and her fiance of the time we the same, except they'd send me off to a friends house in Grimsby where I'd develop a terrible terrible rash from the fertilizers used in the fields. blackeye.gif

Does seem like it could be a neat and fun experience Yrael. Might as well!
