Meh.

Come to find out, it was a test anyway. I apparently got promoted and TF'd for it.

Show the robes!

Bask in the tacky goodness

Flamboyant robes of gold and ivory

Silk 60 goldtint 10 gold 10 cloth 10

Appearance: flamboyant robes of gold and ivory

Dropped: A set of gaudy robes has been dropped here, dust settling in the folds.

Examined: Gaudy and somewhat tacky, these robes seemed to be designed with the intention of assaulting one’s visual senses, a feat which they accomplish easily. The outer robe is made of heavy, ivory-hued linen, and reaches to the wearer’s ankles. It is covered on the front in a dazzling array of geometric designs sewn in gold thread, while a blazing, smiling sun is stitched on the back and filled in with gold silk. The inner robe is lined with plain white silk, with frilly gold lace appearing at the neckline. The enormous collar of the robes rises to the top of the wearer’s head and to the shoulders on either side. It is made of starched golden fabric, with a rigid framework of actual gold in place to keep it upright, which causes the wearer to appear as though a miniature sun is shining just behind his or her head. Finally, the wide, pleated sleeves of the robe are made of fine golden silk, and hang to the waist if the arms are outstretched, while tight cuffs with pearl buttons secure the wrists

Arix, those are the best robes ever! I'll have to say... I'd never be caught dead in them.
Arix2009-02-10 01:12:59
Would you believe that so far, that is the most common reaction?

"They're fantastic!"
"Would you wear them?"
" censor.gif no!"

I would if you could find me a set with good stats.

Talk to Iola, she's a tailor.
Aison2009-02-10 01:36:28
I like them! All sunny sun sunshiney.

But... they don't look anything like what Eventru wears... >.>

Maybe what his followers wear... though I haven't seen anyone wear anything like that laugh.gif
Arix2009-02-10 01:40:39
they aren't Eventru robes. I just happened to think of them back when he was constantly spamming us with excessively verbose entry messages
Aison2009-02-10 01:48:57
Oh, well, still laugh.gif they are pretty fantastic.

They actually kind of remind me of some thief stealing robes so often in achaea that a god made them a pair that gave them a custom entry/exit message that announced them sparkling (and they couldn't remove the robes if I remember right). The thief didn't like that since they had to be stealthy and all.

I did a bed design that way, so over the top no one would ever want it, poking fun at all the other four-poster bed designs that are falling over each other trying to be more grandiose. Got lots of laughs. The funny part, though, is I've actually sold a few to people who apparently didn't realize the design was a joke. (And since it's a public design, other people may have, too.)

QUOTE
Appearance: a sumptuous eight-poster bed
Dropped: An extremely grand eight-poster bed looms decadently within the centre of the room.
Examined: This extremely elegant and ornate bed is elaborately built with eight grandiose wooden posts, two at each corner set diagonally to create a baroquely intricate line of overlapping gauzy silk curtains. Fluffy pillows sheathed in silk sit against the headboard, their edges tatted in a lacey frillwork. An elegantly embroidered comforter rests atop the fine silk sheets of cream white, promising untold decadence.
Mihewi2009-02-10 03:41:00
That's the bed I have.

It's pretty.

Those robes are in fact, the Tier 10 Priest Gear.

The Portal of Fate flashes as Utlamitenoob steps through, now ready to begin a fresh life in Lusternia.

I was really tempted to put this in Rants.

Edit: Poor Aquamancers.
Kelysa2009-02-10 10:52:54
I bought that bed on an alt >_>
Lendren2009-02-10 12:02:02
I should have made it a private design! Maybe I should make a sixteen-poster bed.
Unknown2009-02-10 12:15:15
You made it too pretty. You used words like grand, elegant, sumptuous, and even nice fluffy pillows. I mean, who wouldn't want fluffly pillows?

You should have made it gaudier. Add some bling, like diamond-encrusted pillows, or gold-plated posts, or even 'silver bedsheets so sparkling, that they let you see even in the night'.

I should create a character just to wear those robes. I wonder what kind of personality he'd have...because I'd definitely need a guy.

That bed is awesome. It's so Rococo (Although most people probably don't have any idea what I mean by that.

I knew I forgot something last night. I forgot to send him a message about name changing. I will have to do that tonight if it's not changed.

EDIT: I was really tempted to put this in rants too. There were at least a hundred names that should have been removed from the player lists. Fortunately it seems like someone went through and weeded out some of the really bad names. So a great big thank you hug for all those who cleaned up the player list of unreasonable names!

Maybe a personality something akin to Mango from SNL. Cannot get that image out of my head when I read the description.

Do it.

Snap

It really is! I totally understand Rococo <3

And @ Lendren: Just because it's a joke, doesn't mean people can't buy it! Maybe the characters buying it are really over the top into gaudy, grandiose things!
