There is no such thing as an 'american' accent. Some americans, like myself, lack an accent completely. We speak proper English. Then there are some Americans who do have accents and dialects. Like there's southern, there's bostonian, there's jersey, there's that queer New York butchering of english. Then you can start delving into Spanglish (which is more a mixture of spanish and english sentences) and such.
Tragically, I've heard people say, 'I'm a merrican', like they're two words, and I'm ready to stab faces.

Not all New Yorkers butcher the English language, thank you.
I was raised by parents from Connecticut and Long Island; my diction is perfectly proper with the exception of the occasional Connecticut "O".

Depends on your definition of accent I suppose. I just see an accent as a way of pronouncing things so that you can hear where they are from. I myself have a horribly russian accent, but it goes well when I am trying to seduce the males. They like the slurred L's that always sound like I've drunk too much Vodka.
On that note, introducing my favourite brand:

Absolut is for pansies. D: So little alcohol in that vodka, it's more like water.
Kante2009-02-25 18:56:11
Vodka? Pfft, I just drink beer.
Sam Adams and Guinness, please.

When one has no body, the alcohol tends to rise to ones head quickly... hence

I am confused. CONFUSED, you hear!
I always thought you were say, Romanian, living in some fancy old building penthouse with gargantuan piles of books and... a computer. But I guess that image goes with a Russian accent as well!
My accent is a mixture of a zillion accents as I usually pick a foreign accent quite quickly. I wanted to develop a fancy Oxford accent but what can you do, Finnish is quite far from that. And please, please do not listen to Finnish politicians and point at me. No! I can do better than that on occasion...!
Err.
EDIT: I also fail at quoting.
Ashteru2009-02-25 19:05:20
What, that isn't him in the image he posted? Way to destroy my dreams, Comrade. D:
And people who have accents suck. Not a trace of german in my spoken english.

You should listen to Nightwish instead, for Finnish accent. (Real lyrics can be found here.)
(Edit: sorry, Eventru.)

I am not romanian. I live in Leningrad in an old castle on top of a mountain. This is my study, where I usually play lusternia. I usually sit on the second chair on the right with my notebook, as I find that is where I have the best reception from my wireless.
Saaga2009-02-25 19:18:44
Yup, that's about the image. Don't forget the smoky, blueish shroud though! As for the Nightwish link, it never fails to amuse me.

And you're stuck in a time warp trapping you in 1924?
Elostian2009-02-25 19:25:42
The Real russians never stopped calling Leningrad Leningrad, even though Commrade Putin informs us it should now be st Petersburg.
Saaga2009-02-25 19:27:04
That's the spirit! Now, absorb Finland back to Mother Russia already!
EDIT: I truly am sorry for this derail. But this is just... too... juicy.

To get back to quotes (even if the previous conversation was hilarious ) :
It seems we cannot make new kata forms with more than one modifier, anymore, and this has been going on all day. Interestingly, we can still use the previous forms we've made before, though, with more than one modifier. I assume the monk nerfs are finally being made?

Hm, will the 10 power skills to add all modifiers to your form get changed then?

Yeah, that's an interesting question. If it weren't changed, it would make Trans Shofangi worth it again. I hope the changes are finished soon so we can see.

If Elostian is Russian, don't irritate him. The KGB killed someone with an umbrella before. They shot someone with an umbrella.

Sounds like the Penguin. Are you accusing Elostian of being the Penguin?
