Pouring from the houses round about, and from the slums beside the city walls, a
crowd of dirty Serfs and Laborers amasses, filled with festive cheer and calling
for blood. Pick pockets run about the crowd, and fathers lift their children up
to catch a better glimpse of the blood shed to come.

Expectantly, the crowd waits, and soon the pale face of Veracruz appears between
the battlements. The populace roars its approval: shrieking viscanti women
scream for blood, and men yell hoarse obscenities at the distant figure. Behind
him, Valkira d'Lardick raises a mailed fist, and obedient, the crowd begins to
quiet.

Valkira d'Lardick pulls Veracruz out of sight, and, in breathless silence the
people wait. Suddenly, beneath the vast, buttressed arch of the northern gates,
a trapdoor opens, and the flailing victim falls.

With a jerk, Veracruz's fall is broken momentarily by the rope, which cuts
through his neck, decapitating him. A rain of blood bespeckles the excited
crowd, and the corpse plummets to the ground. As the crowd disperses, viscanti
children stay to fight each other for the head, while gutter mutts tear the
flesh from off Veracruz's broken corpse.
The wild and raucous cheering of the crowd reaches your ears as Veracruz is
executed at the northern gates.
Veracruz has been suffocated by execution in the Capital City of Magnagora.
You see the death occur at execution grounds atop the Northern Gate.
