What if after obtaining demigod/ascendant/whatever status, people were given the opportunity to "start over", a la BVS Looping? Shunt their honours/score/whatever to a "prior life" segment, but let them keep all artifacts, items, whatever, but reset level to 1 and refund all lessons with no loss and let them start in a new guild/org/etc?
I think that this will encourage people to try out new places with their "new life" (and thus severing of IG ties/relations/whatever) and lessen the OOC tensions as people come to the realization that we're really all the same.
It's a stupid idea, but I'd still like comments.

You make things too easy, Terv.

Only for you.

What you're suggesting sounds like some remorting system (ala Aardwolf etc) where reaching the level cap allows you to return at level 1 but with another class/guild on top of your first (you can remort seven times over there, once for each class, with the end result of having all the skills by the last mort). While it's an interesting idea, I doubt it's something the admin in Lusternia would ever implement. <.<

This would be used as an excuse to grief any well-known person that decided to do it. I say no.

Well... they just wouldn't have to do it then would they? The part about it being optional sort of makes that argument a non-issue, since you choose to do it you know what you are getting into.
Though there is a whole myriad of other reasons why it wouldn't work out here.

Yeah, that's probably the least damning of all the reasons you could have picked to argue about this with...

I really don't think anyone wants to have to put in the time and effort to get -back- to Demigod from level one.

It sounds like it'd be more for someone who'd want to switch orgs, without having to invest in a new character, and without the stigma that goes with changing orgs.
Aerotan2008-10-11 12:42:32
Not that it'd be implemented even with these changes, but two things to change that might make it viable in my opinion would be to let them keep their lessons that they had, but don't award them new ones as they level up again. Or even just reset the guild/trade skills and refund a portion of those lessons to them, then let them keep the others like riding, combat, resilience, etc.
Another thing to consider is including a forced namechange with the process. Stepping into the portal again would make them into an entirely new person, of sorts...this would be as an anti-griefing measure.
Anyway, just my two sovereigns.

It depends on who is dedicated to one single guild/organization and if the administration will allow that option. I suppose that would of fit Dysolis if he was Demigod leaving Magnagora for Celest in the Aquamancers for example a guild hopper.
