Petbeasts are considered beasts and are assigned a stable. They will always reset in the stable (and thus can be retrieved there). If you have the stablemaster skill, you can dismiss/summon beasts to and from stables with ease.

It's a very minor thing, but maybe converted-pet-beasts shouldn't reset to the stable from on your shoulder (i.e., in your inventory) after you do the Climb Up thing. Not because it's a big inconvenience, though it is a little one, but more because it just doesn't make much sense, and I hate to think I would want to avoid having Giallyn climb up because she'll reset from there where she wouldn't from following.

I have to admit I love this new skill. Never bothered to learn anything in riding yet ... but now ... Very good job on this one imho.

Question, can collared beasts be customized? Say eventually there are wyvern beasts, Can I change it to be a giant black Wyvern of Terrible, undescribable insanity, as long as the noun is still wyvern?
Ardmore2008-10-12 18:25:49
From HELP CUSTOMIZATION:
* 'Permanent' Loyals (via collar of the Dracnari Beastmasters) may not be customised at all (if you want customisation of this kind, that's what a pet is for).

Any way to tell how much health/mana/ego your pet has? Current and max?

Also, is it possible that beast balance can show up in the prompt, like equilibrium and such?

So, this has probably been adressed, but I don't feel like reading through the nth amount of pages to find an answer.

I paid 900cr for my pet and it came with powers. If I convert it to being a beast will it lose its abilities/reactions, my credits will be wasted? Or what? This confuses me :/
Ardmore2008-10-12 19:24:19
No, you keep everything but invincibility. Instead you get a skill called Phoenix
* Special: Phoenix Option allows pet to be summoned
from stalls 10 minutes after death (rather than one hour).

all powers except amnesia have an equivelant and you will get said equivelant.

Right now I believe if you convert an amnesia pet you would get 400 (bound?) credits back.

Make reagents riftable plz.

EDIT: Also, stable artifact for manses plz. If my pet is to be stored in a stable, I'd rather it be in my manse stable >>
Estarra2008-10-12 20:01:56
We've decided to give the amnesiacloud as an inherent ability if you have an amnesia pet.
Gregori2008-10-12 20:07:20
Do flying pets (custombeasts) have to have "wings"?

Like if I wanted a spirit stag type custombeast (thinking something hartstoney) or a giant flying squirrel (yes I said it.. a flying squirrel)... would I be stuck with the "flaps its wings and lifts it into the sky" type messages?

Gregori Mes'ard, Ethereal Guardian says, "Squirrels of Doom, ATTACK!"

Is there any pve benefit for beats? Since Estarra ( I think ) said they don't protect against npc's and such.

Pets can be taught to reflect, so you can have a reflection made once every 10 seconds.

I would make one of its reactions my first motto...

Cry Havoc! And let loose the squirrels of war!

They will only reflect you if you order them to AND you can only order them when you are on balance + eq. So logically BEFORE your attack. Rings a bell? Reflection + attack = no reflection.

Esano2008-10-12 20:46:05
For those without reflection from illusions, you can still reflect, wait for them to attack, and attack back. What I do to break enemies shields (wish I had raze!).

Ah, yeah, I doesn't look like Saran took into account the pre-reqs.

QUOTE(Ardmore @ Oct 13 2008, 04:31 AM) 569889
On addition to my previous post, how Saran forgot 'mount'... If I turn my previous MOUNT into a beast, as you said you'd be able to do eventually... will it already be able to be mounted, as previous mounts such as a pegasus can already fly?

smile.gif

Yes, as Malach was already mountable and can fly I don't need to train him to do either.

Just like colts come with the mount ability.

QUOTE(Estarra @ Oct 11 2008, 05:35 PM) 569527
No, like all customizations, it has to remain the same object (i.e., a horse). In other words you can customize a horse into a fancy horse that only you own but you can't customize it into a giant porcupine.

Quoted from the second page of the thread. I've issued myself to make sure this was the case since I would really, really, really like to make my wyvern non-blue already and am already considering getting a second collar for another wyvern for a pair if it were the case.

Quick question on appearance:

Is the appearance determined by herbivore vs. carnivore, or do all six feed types count? Like, is a colt raised 100% on oats drawing from the same desc possibilities as a colt raised 100% on fruit?
