Shred almost just bled Lekius out. By itself.

wtf.gif Ok...don't remember that happening on test. Guess I'll take a look.

On the arms and legs it gives lacerations, that's why.
Shiri2008-10-13 03:23:59
That shouldn't cover it...anyway, I did spot a bug while testing, that might have something to do with it.

After a basic raze/jakati kata

You have recovered balance on your left arm.
You attempt the kata form of headcrack.
Swinging Gleipnir at Valestrix, you grit your teeth as it is deflected by his
chain.
With a deft flick of your wrist, you whip Valestrix's head with Gleipnir,
lashing the skin from his flesh.
The chain loops about Valestrix's head and pulls taut, fracturing his skull with
a sickening crunch.

You attempt the kata form of +legcrack.
With a deft flick of your wrist, you whip Valestrix's left leg with Gleipnir,
lashing the skin from his flesh.
The chain catches around Valestrix's flailing left leg, snapping tight with the
screech of metal and twisting it in a hideous contortion of mangled flesh.
Gleipnir hits nothing but air as you swing it at Valestrix.

Nerf me.

This is, if you will pardon the pun, OFF THA CHAIN.

Each of these bring wounds to heavy, and if they aren't QUICKLY fixed, drop to critical.

This looks awesome, and not too complicated (just some more stuff to keep track of).

My only (small) complaint is that now eth's system won't work on it, with the new prompt and all...and I hear he's left? sad.gif
Shiri2008-10-13 04:06:06
When you say "each" what do you mean? Each combo of 3 with no applies?

My 2h shofa moves were doing like...200 wounds.
Valestrix2008-10-13 04:25:02
Yeah I didn't apply, and most of those wounds were likely from the mangles, as they seem to build up wounds at a pretty quick rate. I had my system off so it didn't cure it as quickly as it could have.
Lorick2008-10-13 04:27:35
Tahto The basic tahto staff attack.
Tahtai Attack the defences that would keep your tahto out.
Boost Spend power for superior kata moves.
Smash Do more damage.
Gripping Grip your wielded items in a deathlock.
Rakto Crack somebones with your tahto staff.
Rakti'ini Interupt your opponent's attacks.
Bomrakini Break your enemy's bones.
Bomrakobo End a lock grapple with limb dislocation.
Polevault Begin your attack by launching yourself in the air.
Bairak Grapple the head with your staff in a choke hold.
Starkick A swift boot to the head!
Tidesweep Knock down several people at once.
Bomolini Trip your opponent with a leg strike.
Pound Do more wounding.
Swiftstrike Swing your staff faster.
Bairakobo End a bairak hold with a crushed windpipe.
Tahto'sho Cause your staff to vibrate.
Rakti'sho Inflict moderate bodily injury.
Bomol'sho Paralyze the lower body.
Block Ward off most physical attacks.
Twist Cause bleeding with your tahto staff.
Bomir'rak Paralyze one side of the body.
Raktiah'sho Cause heavy bodily injury.
Bomolah'sho Shatter ankles to prevent movement.
Gahtiah'sho Induce the heart to falter.
Gahtirak'sho Cause the heart to fail completely.

Thought I'd be fair and post our list.

Not sure what you mean, but dhatogh prone + stuns on any jakari hit.

EDIT: Casilu, it is a nerf, and that was the intent. You can't do a grapple and an affliction now. AND grapple arm doesn't stop attacking anymore. Definitely a nerf. Hell, you can't even get any wounds out of a combo with ka lock now.

Although on the plus side, you can now roman cancel out of grapples so you don't have to waste time with throw or whatever if you don't want to.

P.S contrary to Celina's earlier predictions rushing is still a ginormous boost.

God, lay off rush. Is it nice still? Yes, does it actually win anything for you? No, it is certainly not a "ginormous boost." Momentum is extremely easy to gain and extremely easy to keep up. Just expect people to whore hindering like no other against monks. I just got destroyed by a BC because all the stuns wouldn't allow me to get past level 3. Rush didn't save me, did it?

I think I'll just start throwing trueheal into every discussion just because I think it's too powerful.

What do you mean, does it actually win anything for you? Of course it does. And it certainly is a ginormous boost. It doubles your speed for a significant period of time. If momentum is easy to keep up, then great, you're now outputting the highest-end afflictions twice as fast and building up twice as many wounds (and more than twice as much damage thanks to wound-> damage scaling.)

If you want to complain about TH...go ahead. It'll be obvious from the context whether or not you're bringing it up for no reason or because it actually has something to do with the strength of that class.
Nazin2008-10-13 05:01:12
In b4 split?

Monk changes look exciting! Bums me out that I have to start my offense over, but it should be fun once I get the hang of it.

EDIT: That 6th level of momentum that 'opens up' 1500 ka... is that in addition to whatever ka weight you're carrying (500+1500), or 1500 period?

How does psymet DoublePain factor into weapon wounding? Last I checked, it only seemed to affect unarmed combat (or at least I thought from my test results).

We weren't changing psymet, acro, stealth or harmony in any of that testing so if doublepain, lifedrain etc. didn't function half-decently before they won't function half-decently now, and if they did they will.

Nazin: it's 1500. Forms are 250, 350, 450, 750, 1000, 1500. Can't get 1500 without boost. This means you only get wounds/damage OR afflictions in the first couple forms, but I guess you're meant to just skip past that with shotah.

Any idea how I'm supposed to hunt now?
My hunting form so far uses 475 ka (shofa, shofa, kick, speed, skive - prefered giving up some speed not to run into mob shields).

With this new stuff, I can only do this move by the 4th form?

Wtf am I supposed to use now?

This stuff really makes me want to switch to another guild, and I would, if it wasn't so god-damn expansive
Shiri2008-10-13 15:48:30
Start with ssk, then ssk speed, then ssk skive, then ssk speed skive.

I guess.

Sooo... I'm looking at a 1500 ka-weight instakill (Final Sting) that's dependant on delivering a dart with a kick. Problem is: the modifier to add a dart to your kick is 150 ka-weight. Does that make the Final Sting technically impossible? Or does the move include a 'freebie' dart modification?

I guess I can play with it IG later, but I have work to do and I crave info now! dribble.gif

I would like to add, this did nothing to lesson the annoying as hell chuuti that makes it so I can't even hurt harmony monks.
Shurimaru2008-10-13 18:06:51
They didn't promise to fix Chutti, did they?
