It's damn useful once it's there, though. And damn hard to destroy, as has been proven in this thread. Jumping straight from prime into the Catas is sweet beans.

Can't you just distort it and unravel/not worry about it for an hour?

Of course you can just distort it, but unravelling is going to be you stood there for half an hour unable to do anything else, because if you do, it'll interrupt it. So if someone doesn't want you to unravel a gate they can prevent you pretty damn easily.

Yeah, and more than that you can't do CT or anything or it breaks and wastes your power. You can LOOK, TELL PERSON BLAH and SAY BLAH but that's about it.
